Late June through August offers the warmest weather, reliably ice-free lake conditions, and the full slate of park services, swimming beaches, and paddle rentals. Early July brings long daylight hours but also the peak of blackfly and mosquito activity common to the boreal forest. September is a strong shoulder-season pick for RVers, with cooler nights, fewer bugs, and the start of fall colour. The park operates seasonally, so spring and late-fall visitors should confirm campground opening and closing dates before towing in.

Remi Lake offers calm, scenic paddling with an undeveloped north shore to explore. There are excellent paddling opportunities on Remi Lake, especially exploring the park's undeveloped north shore, and the park rents canoes and kayaks. Launch points are a short walk from day-use parking.
The park sits in a classic boreal songbird habitat. This is an ecological region known as the Boreal Forest, often called the songbird nursery because so many nest here each summer. Early mornings in June and July offer the most active birding.
Remi Lake supports walleye, northern pike, and perch, making it a draw for anglers touring northern Ontario. Shore fishing is accessible from day-use areas, and small boats can be launched within the park. A valid Ontario fishing licence is required.
Short interpretive and nature trails loop through mixed boreal forest and wetland near the campground. Most paths are flat and suitable for families. Trailheads are near campground loops with nearby parking.
The paved and gravel campground roads are a relaxed option for family cycling inside the park. Traffic is low outside of check-in and check-out times. Riders should watch for campers backing in trailers during peak hours.
Visitors without a trailer or tent can book one of the park's cabins near Remi Lake. The camp cabin is a rustic one room cabin with a rustic wood interior. Rene Brunelle Provincial Park, ON, Canada
The park is reached via Highway 11, the Trans-Canada route through northern Ontario, with the entrance near Moonbeam. Rene Brunelle is less than 2 hours from Timmins. Kapuskasing lies roughly 30 minutes west and Cochrane about 90 minutes east, making it a logical overnight for RVers crossing the north. Highway 11 is a paved, mostly flat two-lane highway with no significant mountain grades or tunnels, but fuel stops are widely spaced, so RV drivers should top up in larger towns. The nearest airport for fly-and-rent trips is Timmins Victor M. Power Airport (YTS).
