Late May through September is the best window, when daytime highs are warm, campground loops are fully open, and the falls run strong from spring snowmelt. June offers peak water flow and green, fern-filled grotto scenery, while July and August bring the warmest weather and the busiest weekends. Shoulder months of May and September are quieter and cooler, ideal for RV travelers who prefer easier reservations and milder hiking conditions.

Rifle Falls State Park, CO, United States
From Rifle, take Colorado Highway 13 north to Highway 325 and continue about 10 miles to the park entrance, roughly a 20-minute drive. Grand Junction is about 70 miles southwest via I-70, around 75 minutes, and Glenwood Springs is about 30 miles east, roughly 35 minutes. RV drivers should note that Highway 325 is a narrow two-lane road with some curves, and campsites have a stated maximum RV length of 32 feet, so larger rigs should confirm fit in advance. The nearest commercial airport for fly-and-rent trips is Grand Junction Regional Airport (GJT), with Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) as a secondary option.
