How to get to Sampson State Park

The park is about a 1 hour drive southeast of Rochester and roughly 1 hour west of Syracuse via I-90 and NY Route 96A along the east side of Seneca Lake. Geneva lies about 15 miles to the north, and Ithaca is about 45 minutes to the southeast. Routes are generally flat to gently rolling with no significant mountain passes or low-clearance tunnels, making access straightforward for large RVs, though drivers should watch for two-lane country roads and small village speed zones on 96A. The nearest commercial airports for fly-and-rent trips are Rochester (ROC) and Syracuse (SYR).
