Late April through early June and September into October are the most comfortable months, with warm days, cooler nights, and reduced humidity. Summer from mid-June through August brings the biggest crowds, peak lake activity, and hot, humid weather that often pushes into the 90s Fahrenheit. How to get to Sequoyah State Park

The park is about 50 miles southeast of Tulsa via US-412 and OK-51, roughly an hour drive, and about 7 miles east of Wagoner. From Fort Smith, Arkansas it is about 90 miles, and from Oklahoma City it is roughly 150 miles or a three-hour drive. Access roads are paved, gently rolling state highways with no tunnels, steep mountain passes, or low-clearance bridges, making the route straightforward for large RVs. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Tulsa International Airport (TUL).
