Fort Gibson Lake is a 19,000-acre U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reservoir known for largemouth bass, white bass, crappie, and catfish. The park provides boat ramps, courtesy docks, and a marina with easy RV access.
Three Forks Nature Center is the park's interpretive hub, with live native animal exhibits and displays on local ecology and Cherokee heritage. Naturalist-led programs run seasonally and the parking area accommodates RVs.
The park is home to an 18-hole public golf course set among rolling oak woodlands. Tee times are open to day visitors and campground guests, with ample parking at the clubhouse.
Seasonal guided trail rides operate from the park stables, covering wooded trails along the lake. Equestrian campsites and day-use horse trailer parking are available nearby.
Designated swim beaches along the lake offer sandy shoreline, picnic pavilions, and playgrounds for family day use. Paved lots make it easy to pull in with a tow vehicle.
Several miles of paved and soft-surface trails wind through the peninsula, linking campgrounds, the nature center, and the lakeshore. Routes are mostly flat and family friendly.
Fort Gibson Historic Site is a short drive from the park and preserves a reconstructed frontier log stockade along with original stone buildings. The site is managed by the Oklahoma Historical Society and includes a museum and walking trail. okhistory.org/sites/fortgibson
It was wonderful having an RV parked in our sister's drive. It allowed us to visit with our family just a few steps away! Steve was very fast to respond to questions or concerns!!
