Late June through early September is the prime window, when warm temperatures support swimming, paddling and bass fishing on Sharbot and Black Lakes. July and August deliver the most reliable beach weather but also the busiest weekends, so midweek arrivals are easier for larger RVs. Fall is a strong shoulder season for Ontario colours with the comforts of an RV. Spring visits in May and early June can be cool and buggy, but campgrounds are quieter.

The Discovery Trail is the park's signature hike, following a forested ridge between two lakes. It runs along the ridge of land that divides Black Lake and Sharbot Lake, passing through stands of maple, oak and birch with views of both lakes from the top. Trailhead parking near the day-use area accommodates trucks and tow vehicles. ontarioparks.com/parksblog/fall-rv-southeastern-ontario/
Sharbot Lake is a productive warm-water fishery known for largemouth and smallmouth bass, and has hosted bass tournaments. Anglers can launch boats from the park's boat ramp with day-use parking nearby. ontarioparks.com/parksblog/tag/sharbot-lake/

Sharbot Lake and adjoining Black Lake offer calm, clear paddling conditions. Paddlers can put in from the day-use beach or boat launch for a relaxed loop along the shoreline.
A boat launch within the park provides direct access to Sharbot Lake for motorboats and tow-behind craft. The lake's bays and shoreline are popular with anglers and recreational boaters, and RV-towed trailer boats can use the launch parking area. ontarioparks.com/park/sharbotlake
Silver Lake Provincial Park lies a short drive east on Highway 7 and makes an easy day trip, set on the clear waters of Silver Lake between Sharbot Lake and Perth. An Ontario Parks day-use permit covers entry. ontarioparks.com/park/silverlake
Paved campground roads and quiet rural concessions around the park provide casual cycling. Riders can connect to scenic backroads through the Frontenac highlands, and bike racks fit easily on RV exteriors and tow vehicles.

Sharbot Lake Provincial Park, ON, Canada
Sharbot Lake is 1 hour from Kingston, 1.5 hours from Ottawa, and 3.5 hours from Montreal. The park sits directly off Highway 7, the main east-west route across eastern Ontario, which is paved, two-lane, and generally RV-friendly with rolling terrain rather than steep mountain grades. RV drivers should still watch for sharp curves, deer at dawn and dusk, and narrow shoulders on secondary roads leading to the campgrounds. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Ottawa International Airport (YOW), with Kingston Norman Rogers Airport (YGK) as a smaller regional option.
