Late spring through early fall, roughly May to September, is the most comfortable window for RV travel, with dry weather, long daylight, and waterfalls still running strong from snowmelt. Summer brings the warmest temperatures and the busiest campground, so reservations should be made well in advance. Shoulder months such as April and October offer fewer crowds and dramatic high-water flows at the falls, though trails can be muddy and slick. Winter is green and atmospheric but cold and very wet, with short days and occasional snow or ice on the access roads.
Cold and very wet; possible snow or ice on access roads
Wet and cool; waterfalls running high
Muddy trails; peak waterfall flow
Mild shoulder season; variable rain
Pleasant hiking conditions

The Trail of Ten Falls is a roughly 7.2 mile canyon loop that passes ten waterfalls along the North and South Forks of Silver Creek. Four of the falls can be walked behind, including the 177-foot South Falls, the park's signature feature. RV parking and trailheads are available at the South Falls Day-Use Area.
The South Falls Day-Use Area is the main hub of the park, with large paved parking, picnic shelters, a lodge, restrooms, and direct access to South Falls. It is the easiest place for RV visitors to stage a day visit before or after checking into the campground.
The Rim Trail follows the canyon's upper edge and connects South Falls with North Falls, offering a flatter alternative to the Canyon Trail. It is open to hikers, cyclists, and leashed pets and can be combined with the Canyon Trail to form shorter loops.
North Falls is a 136-foot waterfall with an amphitheater-like overhang visitors can walk beneath via a short stairway from the trailhead. The North Falls trailhead parking off OR-214 provides a quick-access alternative to the main South Falls lot.
Silver Falls has a dedicated horse camp and more than 14 miles of equestrian trails through the park's forested backcountry. The equestrian area has its own trailer parking separate from the main campground.
A network of multi-use trails in the park's backcountry is open to mountain bikers, including forested singletrack and fire-road connectors. Bikes are not permitted on the Canyon Trail itself, so riders stage from the Rim or backcountry trailheads.
The park's historic Silver Creek Youth Camp was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and reflects National Park Service rustic design and New Deal-era construction. The South Falls Lodge, built by CCC crews, houses a cafe and interpretive displays and is an easy walk from day-use parking.
This was the first trailer we have rented and it was a great experience! Aaron was helpful, flexible and easy to reach. The trailer was comfortable and provided the comforts we were looking for. Highly recommend!!

Nice clean little camper for 4. Nicely appointed but Bring a rug or mat for in front of camper & inside door. Longer water hose & electrical cord would be helpful. We were glad to have the generator for back up because the elec. cord was not always long enough. Know what you need and ask. Paul added a drip coffee machine & toaster for us. Bedding & towels were clean & nice. Beds were comfortable. A/C worked well

Silver Falls State Park, OR, United States
The park is about 26 miles east of Salem and roughly 60 miles south of Portland, typically a 70 to 90 minute drive via Interstate 5 and Oregon Highway 214. From Salem, drivers follow OR-22 east to Sublimity and then OR-214 south into the park; the final approach is a winding two-lane road through foothills that larger rigs should take slowly, with no major tunnels or steep mountain passes to clear. Portland International Airport (PDX) is the nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips, while Salem and Hillsboro areas offer additional RV pickup options. There are no weight-restricted bridges on the main route, but trailers should be prepared for tight turns and limited pull-through parking at trailheads.
