Late spring through early fall, roughly May through October, is the best window for RV travel to Sizerville. Summer brings warm days ideal for the pool and creek fishing, while September and October offer cooler temperatures, vivid fall foliage, and prime elk-viewing in the nearby Elk Range. Shoulder seasons can bring wet weather and cool nights, so RVers should plan for mountain-climate swings. Winters are cold and snowy, the campground is closed, and only day-use access is available.

Nady Hollow Trail is a moderate forested loop within Sizerville State Park that climbs from the campground area into mixed hardwood forest. It offers a manageable half-day hike with minimal signage challenges.
The North Slope Nature Trail is a short interpretive loop showcasing the park's native trees and forest ecology. It is a good leg-stretcher for RV travelers arriving at camp.
Bottomlands Trail is an easy, gentle path along the creek bottoms near the picnic area and campground. It is well suited for families and wildlife watching.
Sizerville's seasonal outdoor swimming pool is a summer highlight for campers. It typically operates from late spring through late summer with posted hours.
East Fork Sinnemahoning Creek and Cowley Run offer stocked trout fishing within and adjacent to the park. A valid Pennsylvania fishing license and trout permit are required.
Sizerville sits on the edge of Pennsylvania's free-roaming elk herd range, with the Elk Country Visitor Center in Benezette about an hour's drive south. Fall rut in September and October is the prime viewing window.
Paved routes around the park lead through Elk State Forest with scenic overlooks, vistas, and access points for side hikes. RVers should stick to paved state roads and avoid narrow gravel forest roads.

Sizerville State Park, PA, United States
The park is roughly 6 miles north of Emporium, Pennsylvania, on PA Route 155, about 2.5 hours northeast of Pittsburgh and around 3 hours from Buffalo, New York. Access roads wind through the Allegheny Plateau with steep grades, curves, and long rural stretches, so RV drivers should plan fuel stops and watch for logging trucks and wildlife. There are no low tunnels on the main approach, but secondary forest roads are unsuitable for large rigs. The nearest regional airports for fly-and-rent trips are Bradford Regional and Williamsport Regional, with larger service out of Pittsburgh.
