Late June through early September offers the warmest temperatures, the longest daylight, and the most reliable dry weather for coastal stops along the Eastern Shore. July and August bring peak visitation but also the best ocean conditions for beachcombing and paddling nearby. Late May, early June, and September are good shoulder options with cooler air, fewer bugs later in the season, and quieter roads. The park is not maintained for winter use, and services are generally unavailable outside the summer operating season.

How to get to Spry Bay Provincial Park

The park is on Highway 7 (Marine Drive), roughly 130 km (about 1 hour 45 minutes) east of Halifax and about 30 km southwest of Sheet Harbour. Halifax Stanfield International Airport is the nearest major airport for fly-and-rent travellers, at roughly 100 km by road. Highway 7 is a two-lane rural coastal road with some narrow shoulders, blind curves, and moose warning zones, so RV drivers should reduce speed at dusk and dawn and plan fuel stops in Musquodoboit Harbour, Tangier, or Sheet Harbour. There are no tunnels or mountain passes on the route, but bridges over tidal inlets can be narrow for wider rigs.
