July and August offer the warmest ocean temperatures and the most reliable sunshine, making them ideal for beach days and swimming. June and September are excellent shoulder-season choices for RV travellers, with milder weather, fewer crowds, and easier parking at nearby campgrounds. Late spring and early fall can be foggy and cool along the Atlantic coast, so pack layers. The park itself is not plowed in winter and services are closed off-season.

Summerville Beach is a long, fine-sand Atlantic beach with shallow entries and gentle surf on calm days. The sheltered cove makes it one of the warmer swimming beaches on Nova Scotia's South Shore, though ocean temperatures remain cool. No lifeguards are on duty.
Walking the full length of Summerville Beach is a highlight of any stop. The wide sand and tidal zone reveal shells, sea glass, and driftwood, with views across the cove to White Point.
The park has picnic tables set near the dune edge, making it a practical lunch stop for RV travellers on the Highway 103 corridor. Vault toilets are available on site.
Summerville Beach picks up small to moderate Atlantic swells and is a known beginner-friendly surf spot on the South Shore. Conditions vary with wind and weather, so check a surf forecast before heading out.
The dune and cove environment attracts shorebirds, gulls, cormorants, and seasonal migrants. Stay on marked paths to avoid damaging sensitive dune vegetation.
Kejimkujik Seaside, a coastal adjunct of Kejimkujik National Park, lies about 15 minutes west of Summerville Beach. It offers a 6.5 km return hike to wild white-sand beaches with frequent seal sightings.
Thomas Raddall Provincial Park, about 20 minutes from Summerville Beach, is the nearest provincial campground and accommodates RVs with unserviced sites, a dump station, and hiking trails. It makes a convenient basecamp for exploring the area.
Liverpool, 15 minutes north, offers a walkable waterfront, the Rossignol Cultural Centre, and Privateer-era history along the Mersey River. It is a good supply stop for RV travellers before continuing down the coast.
This was our second year in a row renting this trailer and again, we had a great experience! Drop off and pick up were seamless, and Chris made sure we had everything we needed and more to ensure our stay was perfect! Great layout RV for a large family, clean and well equipped. We loved having the Blackstone for delicious meals!

Summerville Beach Provincial Park, NS, Canada
The park sits directly off Highway 103 at Exit 20A/21, roughly 15 minutes south of Liverpool and about 2 hours (170 km) southwest of Halifax. From Yarmouth, allow about 1 hour 45 minutes (145 km) via Highway 103. The route is a paved two-lane trunk highway with no tunnels or steep grades, and is well suited to RVs of all sizes, though coastal fog can reduce visibility. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ).
