Late June through early September offers the best conditions, with warm air temperatures, comfortable swimming in the Northumberland Strait, and the longest daylight hours for beach visits. July and August are peak season and can be busy on weekends, especially during regional festivals in the village of Tatamagouche. Early June and mid-September are quieter shoulder windows with cooler water but easier parking for larger RVs. The park is a day-use area only, so plan arrivals between mid-morning and late afternoon.

The park's shoreline fronts the Northumberland Strait, known for some of the warmest saltwater north of the Carolinas. Visitors come to swim, wade, and look for shells along the sand and gravel beach. Lifeguards are not on duty, so supervise children closely.
Grassy picnic areas above the beach offer tables with views across the strait toward Prince Edward Island. It is a relaxed spot for a midday meal between stops on a north shore road trip.
The nearby village is home to local farm markets, craft shops, a brewery, and the Creamery Square heritage site. It is a short drive from the park and a good rainy-day alternative.
Sections of the Trans Canada Trail pass through the Tatamagouche area along a converted rail corridor. The flat surface is friendly for casual walkers and cyclists of most abilities.
The shoreline and nearby estuaries attract shorebirds, gulls, and the occasional bald eagle. Bring binoculars and walk the beach at low tide for the best viewing.
The north-facing coastline offers broad sunset views over the water. Arriving an hour before dusk gives time to set up camp chairs on the grass and enjoy the show.
Rushton's Beach, a short drive east, offers a longer sand beach, dune trail, and seal viewing area. It pairs well with a Tatamagouche Park stop for a full day on the coast.
Janice was excellent to deal with, quick to respond to any inquiry and delivered our RV on time as requested. We would absolutely use this service again. Thank you Janice.

They made it the best possible experience ever.

This trip was amazing! It all started the day before we were supposed to pick up the RV, I was admitted into the hospital to have my appendix removed. Our hosts had a few days after we finished our original trip so they bumped it four days to accommodate our trip. We changed our plans but it worked out for the best. We traveled all around the south part of Nova Scotia, staying at The Ovens, Scallywags in Clare and then the last stop was at the campground at the Blomidon Lookoff. The RV was absolutely perfect from start to finish and for the size of it was very good on fuel. $465 for just over 1200km in a F-450, which is great fuel mileage. We normally go testing but tried this, our next testing camping trip will be horrible. Lol. We will feel spoiled. If you are considering this size of vehicle and this style of trip, this vehicle and host make the experience so much better! Book it while you can!

The rv was just the right size for our family of 5 to create a memorable trip. The rv is fully equipped, has plenty of power to climb and safely descend Cape Bretons Cabot trail and surroundings plus tons of little extras. We were actually impressed by the fuel consumption and handling of this rv. All being said, we agree with pretty much all the previous reviews. The host(s) were spot on and adaptive to our needs. Once again, no regrets going with RVezy.

Tatamagouche Provincial Park, NS, Canada
The park sits on Nova Scotia's north shore, roughly a 15 to 20 minute drive from the village of Tatamagouche, about 1 hour from Truro via Route 311, and approximately 1.5 to 2 hours from Halifax via Highways 102 and 104. RVers should expect two-lane rural roads with some rolling grades on Route 311 through the Cobequid Hills, and should watch for narrow shoulders and wildlife at dawn and dusk. There are no major tunnels or weight-restricted bridges on the standard approaches, but tight turns at the park entrance mean large motorhomes should take the final approach slowly. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ), about two hours south.
