October through April offers the most comfortable conditions, with daytime highs in the 60s and 70s Fahrenheit and cool, dry evenings ideal for walking the historic district. Spring and late fall are peak months thanks to mild weather and Tombstone's recurring heritage events. Summer brings triple-digit heat and afternoon monsoon storms from July into September, so RVers should plan early-morning visits and ensure reliable air conditioning at camp. A replica gallows stands in the courtyard on the original site where territorial executions were carried out. Interpretive signage explains the history of frontier justice in Cochise County.
Allen Street and the surrounding blocks form a National Historic Landmark filled with period storefronts, saloons, and boardwalks. The courthouse is a short walk from the O.K. Corral, Bird Cage Theatre, and Crystal Palace Saloon.
Boothill is Tombstone's original 1878 cemetery on the north edge of town, with marked graves of outlaws and miners from the silver-boom years. A small parking area accommodates medium-size RVs better than downtown streets.
Kartchner Caverns is a living limestone cave system about 40 minutes northwest of Tombstone near Benson. Guided tours require advance reservations, and the park has a full-service campground suitable for RVs. azstateparks.com/kartchner
The former copper-mining town of Bisbee sits about 25 miles south of Tombstone via AZ-80 and offers mine tours, historic architecture, and art galleries. Parking for larger rigs is easier at the Lavender Pit overlook than in the narrow old town.

Tombstone Courthouse State Historic Park, AZ, United States
The park is in downtown Tombstone, about 70 miles southeast of Tucson via I-10 and AZ-80, roughly a 1.25-hour drive, and about 24 miles south of Benson. Tucson International Airport is the nearest major airport for fly-and-rent travelers. AZ-80 into Tombstone is a standard two-lane highway with no tunnels or steep mountain passes, but street parking around the courthouse is tight for larger rigs, so RVers should park on the wider outskirts of the historic district and walk in. Watch for low-clearance shade structures and angled parking along Allen Street.
