Late June through early September offers the warmest, driest conditions for accessing the trail and nearby RV campgrounds, with long daylight hours ideal for cycling or hiking sections of the corridor. July and August are peak travel months across Newfoundland, so highway campgrounds near trailheads fill quickly. Shoulder months of June and September bring cooler temperatures, fewer bugs, and quieter trails, though some facilities in nearby parks may be closed. Winter is popular with snowmobilers but most RV facilities along the route are closed.

Cycling is the signature activity on T'Railway, using the flat, gravel former railbed for day rides or multi-day tours. Popular segments include routes out of Corner Brook, Gander, and the Avalon Peninsula. Trailheads in towns typically offer parking suitable for RVs and tow vehicles.
ATV riding is permitted along most of the corridor and is one of the most common uses outside urban sections. Riders can access long backcountry stretches between communities, passing lakes, barrens, and historic railway features. Staging areas in smaller towns often accommodate trailers and RVs.
The eastern end of T'Railway connects to the Grand Concourse walking network in St. John's and Mount Pearl. Paved and gravel sections are ideal for easy strolls with city amenities nearby. RV parking is limited downtown but available at suburban trailheads.
The former St. John's railway station houses the Railway Coastal Museum and marks kilometre zero of the T'Railway. Exhibits cover the history of the Newfoundland Railway and coastal boat service. Street and lot parking in the area can be tight for larger rigs.
In winter the corridor becomes a major groomed snowmobile route connecting communities across the island. Provincial snowmobile associations maintain sections and warm-up shelters. Most RV campgrounds are closed in winter, so travellers typically base in towns.
The western end of T'Railway runs through the scenic Codroy Valley, a Ramsar wetland known for birdwatching and mountain views. Short out-and-back walks or rides from local trailheads showcase the valley. RV-friendly parking is available near J.T. Cheeseman and Grand Codroy areas.
Near Bishop's Falls the trail crosses the Exploits River on a long converted railway trestle, one of the most photographed points on the corridor. The flat approaches make it an easy walk or cycle from town. Trailhead parking in Bishop's Falls suits most RVs.

The trail's eastern terminus is in St. John's, while the western terminus is in Port aux Basques, which is the arrival point for the Marine Atlantic ferry from North Sydney, Nova Scotia. Driving the full Trans-Canada Highway between the two ends takes roughly 10 to 12 hours without stops, and most RVers access the corridor at towns such as Corner Brook, Grand Falls-Windsor, Gander, or Clarenville. RV travellers should be prepared for long stretches between services, variable weather, moose on highways especially at dawn and dusk, and strong crosswinds near coastal sections. The nearest major airports for fly-and-rent trips are St. John's International Airport (YYT) and Deer Lake Regional Airport (YDF).
