Late June through early September offers the warmest, driest weather on the Washington coast, with daytime highs in the mid 60s to low 70s Fahrenheit and the lowest rainfall of the year. Spring and fall shoulder seasons bring cooler temperatures, fewer crowds, and excellent storm watching, but RVers should plan for wind and frequent rain. Razor clam digs in fall, winter, and spring are major draws and book quickly, so reserve well ahead. Winter camping is possible since the park stays open year-round, but expect wet, windy conditions and short daylight hours.

A short walking trail leads from the campground through coastal dunes to a wide, sandy ocean beach. The flat, hard-packed sand is ideal for long walks, kite flying, and beachcombing for shells, agates, and driftwood.
Twin Harbors is one of the most popular razor clam digging beaches in Washington. Digs are scheduled by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife during approved tides in fall, winter, and spring, and require a current shellfish license.
A short interpretive loop trail winds through coastal shore pine and salal between the campground and the beach. The trail is mostly flat with soft footing and good for stretching legs after a drive.
The surf line at Twin Harbors offers seasonal fishing for surfperch and other coastal species. Anglers should check current Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife regulations and seasons before casting.
Westhaven State Park, a few miles north near Westport, provides protected jetty views, a paved promenade, and surfing access. RVers can day-park in the large lot and watch boats entering Grays Harbor.
The Grays Harbor Lighthouse, the tallest in Washington, sits adjacent to Westport Light State Park just north of Twin Harbors. A paved 1.3-mile multi-use trail connects the lighthouse area to Westhaven through dune habitat.
The Westport area is a launching point for spring and fall gray whale watching tours from the marina. Shorebirds, harbor seals, and bald eagles are commonly spotted from the beach year-round.

Twin Harbors State Park, WA, United States
From Olympia, the park is roughly 75 miles, about a 1.5-hour drive west via US-101 and SR-8 to Aberdeen, then SR-105 south through Westport. From Seattle, plan on about 2.5 to 3 hours depending on traffic. The route is RV-friendly with no tunnels or steep mountain passes, but SR-105 is a two-lane coastal highway with limited passing zones and gusty crosswinds near the shore. The closest major airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), about 130 miles northeast of the park.
