The sandy beach is 200 metres long and is a popular spot for visitors; swim within the designated area to avoid conflicts with powerboats and waterskiers, and note there are no lifeguards on duty in BC Parks. wwwd.bcparks.ca/explore/parkpgs/tyhee_lk/
Trails connect the campground and the beach area; follow the 2.5 km Aldermere Trail to explore the park along the shoreline of Tyhee Lake and through the aspen forest. The trail passes near the site of the historic Aldermere townsite, part of the Old Cariboo Trail. bcparks.ca/tyhee-lake-park/
There are excellent opportunities for bird watching in the marshy areas of the lakeshore, where dead trees, bulrushes and cattails provide nesting sites and protection for a variety of birds, including loons, red-winged blackbirds, and downy woodpeckers. bcparks.ca/tyhee-lake-park/
There are waterskiing opportunities at this park. Paddle board rentals and a concession stand are now available seasonally from the day-use area, and canoeing and kayaking are also popular on the lake. bcparks.ca/tyhee-lake-park/
There is a small bike track for kids near the shower building in the middle of the campground. Bicycles with electric assist motors (e-bikes) are permitted on signed or designated trails within Tyhee Lake Park, provided they meet the definitions and criteria for e-bike use as outlined in the BC Parks cycling guidelines. bcparks.ca/recreation/biking-in-bc/

Tyhee Lake Provincial Park, BC, Canada
The park sits off Highway 16, 10 km east of Smithers and a short drive from Telkwa, with Prince George roughly 370 km (about 4.5 hours) to the east and Prince Rupert about 350 km (around 4 hours) to the west. Highway 16 (the Yellowhead) is the primary RV route and is generally well suited to large rigs, though winter snow, icy grades, and wildlife on the road demand caution. The nearest airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Smithers Regional Airport (YYD), about 15 minutes away. Carry chains or winter tires when traveling in shoulder or off-season months.
