Late June through early September offers the most reliable weather for picnicking, swimming in nearby rivers, and hiking the valley trails. July and August bring warm days and the peak of summer tourism along the Sunrise Trail. September and early October are excellent shoulder-season choices, with cooler temperatures and vivid hardwood fall colours in the Wentworth Valley. Winter visits focus on nearby ski and snowshoe activities rather than the park itself.

The park offers access to forested trails that climb from the valley floor into the Cobequid Hills. Routes vary from short loops near the picnic area to longer climbs with elevation gain.
The day-use picnic area sits beside the Wallace River with tables, vault toilets, and shaded spots under mature hardwoods. It is a popular rest stop for travellers on Highway 4.
The Wentworth Valley is one of Nova Scotia's premier fall colour destinations, with maple and birch ridges turning bright red and gold. Highway 4 provides a scenic drive with several pull-offs.
Just minutes from the park, Ski Wentworth is Nova Scotia's largest alpine ski area and offers lift-served hiking and mountain biking in summer. Parking accommodates larger vehicles.
The Wallace River flows past the day-use area and offers cool-water wading and seasonal trout fishing with a valid Nova Scotia licence. Access is easy from the picnic area.
The park makes a good break point for RVers following Nova Scotia's Sunrise Trail along the Northumberland Strait. Tatamagouche, Pugwash, and Wallace are within an easy drive for beaches and local food stops.
Janice was excellent to deal with, quick to respond to any inquiry and delivered our RV on time as requested. We would absolutely use this service again. Thank you Janice.

They made it the best possible experience ever.

This trip was amazing! It all started the day before we were supposed to pick up the RV, I was admitted into the hospital to have my appendix removed. Our hosts had a few days after we finished our original trip so they bumped it four days to accommodate our trip. We changed our plans but it worked out for the best. We traveled all around the south part of Nova Scotia, staying at The Ovens, Scallywags in Clare and then the last stop was at the campground at the Blomidon Lookoff. The RV was absolutely perfect from start to finish and for the size of it was very good on fuel. $465 for just over 1200km in a F-450, which is great fuel mileage. We normally go testing but tried this, our next testing camping trip will be horrible. Lol. We will feel spoiled. If you are considering this size of vehicle and this style of trip, this vehicle and host make the experience so much better! Book it while you can!

The rv was just the right size for our family of 5 to create a memorable trip. The rv is fully equipped, has plenty of power to climb and safely descend Cape Bretons Cabot trail and surroundings plus tons of little extras. We were actually impressed by the fuel consumption and handling of this rv. All being said, we agree with pretty much all the previous reviews. The host(s) were spot on and adaptive to our needs. Once again, no regrets going with RVezy.

Wentworth Provincial Park, NS, Canada
The park lies along Highway 4 in the Wentworth Valley, roughly a 45 minute drive from Truro and about 1 hour from Amherst, with Halifax approximately 2 hours to the south. Most RV travellers exit Highway 104 (Trans-Canada) at Wentworth and follow Highway 4 through the valley, which includes winding sections and moderate grades that large rigs should take at reduced speed. There are no tunnels or low-clearance obstacles on the main route, but watch for narrow shoulders and logging trucks. Halifax Stanfield International Airport is the nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips, about 2 hours away by road.
