Late June through August is the prime window, when the beach, bathhouse, and boat launch are fully open and Lake Wentworth water temperatures are comfortable for swimming. Early September offers warm days, cooler nights, and lighter crowds as summer vacation traffic thins out. Foliage peaks from late September into early October and draws scenic drivers through the Wolfeboro area, though park services wind down after the summer season. Spring and late fall visits are limited, as the park typically operates on a summer day-use schedule.

The park's sandy swimming beach on Lake Wentworth is its main draw. Calm, shallow shoreline areas and a bathhouse make it a family-friendly spot on warm summer afternoons.
Shoreline picnic areas with tables and grills sit beneath pines just back from the beach. It is a convenient lunch stop for RVers exploring the Wolfeboro area.
A public boat launch within the park provides trailered access to Lake Wentworth. Anglers target bass, pickerel, and perch, while paddlers explore coves and the lake's outlet toward Crescent Lake.
Lake Wentworth is a popular paddling destination with quiet bays and small islands. Launching from the park puts paddlers on the water quickly with flat water conditions typical of most summer mornings.
Lake Wentworth supports warmwater species including smallmouth and largemouth bass. Anglers can cast from the shoreline near the beach area or launch a small boat for wider access.
Historic Wolfeboro sits just 6 miles west on NH Route 109 along Lake Winnipesaukee. The compact downtown offers shops, restaurants, and a waterfront boardwalk that pair well with an afternoon at the park.
The park is a natural stop on loop drives through the eastern Lakes Region. NH Route 109 and NH Route 28 link Wolfeboro with the Ossipee Mountains, Lake Winnipesaukee, and the southern edge of the White Mountains.
RV was great. Dave was awesome, always available by phone when we had a question. Highly recommend renting from Dave.

Wentworth State Park, NH, United States
The park sits off NH Route 109 about 6 miles east of downtown Wolfeboro in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. From Concord it is roughly a 60 mile, 1.25 hour drive via I-93 and NH Route 28; from Portsmouth it is about 55 miles, roughly 1.25 hours; and from Boston it is approximately 125 miles, around 2.5 hours. RV drivers should note that NH Route 109 is a winding two-lane road with narrow shoulders, so slow cornering speeds are advised, and the park's internal roads and parking area favor smaller rigs and tow vehicles rather than large motorhomes. Manchester-Boston Regional Airport is the closest major airport for fly-and-rent travelers, about 75 miles to the south.
