Late June through August is the best window for an RV trip, with warm daytime temperatures, lake water warm enough for swimming, and all park services fully open. July tends to be the peak for crowds, so reservations fill quickly on weekends and long weekends. Shoulder-season visits in early June or September offer cooler nights, lighter traffic, and easier site selection, though some day-use amenities may be wound down. Winters are harsh and the campground is closed.

The main attraction is the long sandy public beach on Lake Winnipeg, linked to a lakeside boardwalk with benches, gardens, and viewpoints. Families swim and sunbathe in the shallow warm water while the boardwalk provides an easy stroll between the campground, pier, and downtown. RV parking is available at adjacent day-use lots.
The sheltered harbour and concrete pier jutting into Lake Winnipeg are popular for fishing, windsurfing launch, and watching sailboats. Anglers target walleye, perch, and pike from the pier during summer. A large parking area near the harbour suits trucks and RVs.
Winnipeg Beach is one of the top windsurfing spots in Manitoba thanks to consistent prairie winds on the lake. Sailors and kiteboarders also launch from the beach and harbour areas. Conditions are best in afternoon onshore winds during summer.
A family-friendly playground and seasonal splash pad sit near the beach and day-use lawns. These amenities are a short walk from the campground loops. Picnic shelters with tables are available for group meals.
Shore fishing from the pier and boat fishing from the harbour produce walleye, sauger, perch, and northern pike. A valid Manitoba fishing licence is required. Local bait shops and a boat launch support day trips on the lake.
The park sits immediately adjacent to the historic resort town, with cafes, ice cream shops, mini-golf, and a summer farmers market. Visitors can walk from the campground to most attractions. The town hosts live music and community events on summer weekends.
The flat paved roads and shoulders through the Interlake region are well suited to road cycling and e-biking. Riders often combine Winnipeg Beach with nearby communities such as Gimli and Matlock. Bikes are easy to store at RV sites for day rides.
We enjoyed our experience. Lots of room. The grandkids had so much fun camping.

Really great experience. Owner was very helpful, set everything up, and took the time to answer any questions we had as first time RV renters as well as made themselves available for any questions or concerns during our stay. RV was clean and had the essentials and a good amount of space for our family. We have no complaints and would use this RV again!

Winnipeg Beach Provincial Park, MB, Canada
The park sits along Highway 9 in the town of Winnipeg Beach, about 80 km (roughly a one-hour drive) north of downtown Winnipeg. From the city, RVs follow Highway 8 or Highway 9 north through the Interlake; both routes are paved, flat, and free of mountain grades, tunnels, or weight-restricted bridges, making them straightforward for any RV class. Watch for crosswinds on the open Prairie sections and for in-town speed reductions as Highway 9 becomes Main Street near the campground. The nearest airport for fly-and-rent travellers is Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport (YWG), about 90 minutes south by road.
