Woolly Hollow State Park, AR, United States
Woolly Hollow State Park sits off Highway 285 in Faulkner County, roughly 12 miles northeast of Greenbrier and about a 40-minute drive from Conway. Little Rock is approximately 30 miles south, or about a 45-minute drive via Interstate 40 and US Highway 65. Most access is on paved state highways with no significant mountain passes, but the final park road is rural and winding, so larger rigs should take corners slowly and watch for low-hanging branches. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport in Little Rock.
Spring and fall are the best months for RV travel to Woolly Hollow, with mild daytime temperatures, lower humidity, and comfortable camping weather from April through May and again from September through October. Summer, especially June through August, is peak season thanks to Lake Bennett's swim beach, though Arkansas heat and humidity can be intense. Winter visits are quieter and generally mild, but overnight lows can dip below freezing, so RVers should plan for cold nights and occasional wet weather.

The park's sandy swim beach on 40-acre Lake Bennett is the main summer draw. The calm, spring-fed lake is a good option for families with younger kids.
The Huckleberry Trail is a moderate loop that climbs the wooded ridges around the hollow. Expect rolling terrain, hardwood forest, and views down toward Lake Bennett.
Lake Bennett is open to non-motorized and low-horsepower boats, making it well suited for kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards. Seasonal rentals are typically available from the visitor center.
Anglers target largemouth bass, bream, and catfish on Lake Bennett from shore, the fishing pier, or small boats. An Arkansas fishing license is required for anyone of licensing age.
The restored Woolly Cabin is a 19th-century log home built by the park's namesake family. It offers a quick, flat walk and a look at early Arkansas settler life.
The Enchanted Forest Trail is a short interpretive loop near the campground area. It is a good choice for a quick leg-stretcher between driving days.
Shaded picnic areas and a playground sit near the lakeshore. Tables, grills, and restrooms make it an easy midday stop for RV families.
Chad was a great host! He was quick to reply for any and all questions we had at all times of the day/night. The motor home was clean and very well stocked. There were 7 of us which included 3 young grandchildren and we had plenty of room. The RV felt safe and reliable for our trip to Yellowstone, Wyoming and South Dakota area! Will definitely rent from Chad again!
