Expect a mix of well-developed provincial campgrounds and smaller private parks. Whiteshell sites vary by loop: some offer full electrical, water, and sewer hookups, others are basic, and a few are walk-in tent sites. Cell coverage is spotty once off the main highways, so downloading maps and reservation confirmations in advance is wise. Insects are a real factor from late May through July. Bring repellent, screen rooms, and long sleeves for evenings. Wildlife includes black bears, so food-storage rules apply at all provincial campgrounds. Fuel, groceries, and RV supplies are easiest to source in Lac du Bonnet itself or in Pinawa before heading deeper into the park. Larger Whiteshell resorts and campground stores carry basics, but selection is limited and hours are shorter in the shoulder season.
