Campgrounds and RV parks near West St. Paul, MB

Birds Hill Provincial Park is the primary outdoor draw. The park offers a mix of walking, hiking, cycling and cross-country ski trails, along with a lake beach, a riding stable, and interpretive programming. Every July the park hosts the Winnipeg Folk Festival, one of North America's largest folk music events, which drives demand for regional campsites well beyond the park itself. Closer to the Red River, Selkirk Park offers riverfront day-use areas and access to the Marine Museum of Manitoba in Selkirk. Netley Creek Golf and RV Park pairs camping with an on-site course, and the Netley-Libau Marsh south of Lake Winnipeg is a known birding area. Downtown Winnipeg is roughly 15 to 20 minutes south, putting The Forks, the Assiniboine Park Zoo, and the Canadian Museum for Human Rights within easy reach for a rest day.

Private parks in the area typically offer a higher proportion of full-hookup pull-throughs. Wifi is available at the campground store, but the area as a whole has decent cell coverage. Cell service generally holds up across the metro area and at most nearby campgrounds. Mosquitoes are a real factor from late May through August, especially after wet spells. Bring screens, repellent, and a plan for evening cover. Prairie thunderstorms can develop quickly on hot afternoons, so monitor the ECCC forecast and secure awnings before leaving a site.
