Best-in-class RV insurance and roadside assistance

Best-in-class RV insurance and roadside assistance

RVezy partners with the top insurance and roadside assistance providers in North America to ensure our guests, hosts, and rental RVs have insurance and protection coverage on every trip.

RV rental insurance

Once our team approves an RV, it's covered by RVezy's best-in-class insurance each time it’s rented out on our platform.

What’s covered?

Liability. RVezy provides $1 million in liability coverage for American guests and hosts and $2 million in liability coverage for Canadian guests and hosts. Liability covers you if you cause physical injury and/or damage to someone else’s property while using the RV.

Collisions. Although they are not frequent, accidents do happen. RVezy’s collision insurance covers the cost of repairs for any claimed and approved damages related to the RV coming into contact with another vehicle or object during the rental period.

Comprehensive. Damaged awning? Fire? Vandalism? Theft? We’ve got you covered. RVezy’s comprehensive insurance covers the cost of repairs and/or replacement for non-collision-related incidents that occur during the rental period.

Standard accident benefits. Property can always be fixed or replaced, but injuries aren’t so easy. In the event someone is injured, RVezy offers industry-standard American and Canadian accident benefits coverage during the rental period.

RV rental insurance requirements

The RV and the host must meet the following requirements to be approved for commercial rental insurance.

Hosts are required to have an:

  • Approved insurance profile.
  • Approved driver’s application.

Motorhomes must be:

  • No more than 10 years old.
  • Currently valued at less than $150,000 in local currency.
  • Less than 40 feet in length.
  • Safe, reliable, and roadworthy.
  • Not be licensed and registered in a state or province outside of RVezy’s coverage.*

Trailers must be:

  • No more than 15 years old.
  • Currently valued at less than $100,000 in local currency.
  • Safe, reliable, and roadworthy.
*RV hosts with motorhomes licensed and registered in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Yukon, Nunavut, or Northwest Territories are solely responsible for having a valid peer-to-peer rental commercial policy for their RV.

RV rental insurance costs

During the booking process, the guest must select and pay for one of three protection levels: basic, standard, or premium protection.

Basic protection has the lowest nightly rate and the highest deductible.** Depending on the RV, deductibles cost between $1,500 to $3,000.

Standard protection has a higher nightly rate and a lower nightly deductible than the basic protection.** Depending on the RV, deductibles cost between $750 to $2,000.

Premium protection has the highest nightly rate and the lowest deductible.** Depending on the RV, deductibles cost between $500 to $1,000.

A fourth protection level, the stationary protection plan, has a set 1,000 deductible** and only applies to delivered RVs and RV cottages. Our stationary protection plan will be your only option if you rent an RV cottage or choose RV delivery and don't move the RV during your rental.

**In the event of a claim, the deductible is the amount of money that the guest must pay out of pocket before the insurance provider pays any expenses.

Security deposits

The security deposit is an amount set by the host to help quickly resolve minor incidents that don’t require an insurance claim. For example, a stained carpet might require a carpet cleaning without going through an insurance provider.***

Three days before the trip start date, RVezy will process the guest's security deposit as an authorization (temporary hold of funds) to the credit card on file. Once the trip is complete, RVezy will release the security deposit (temporary hold of funds) back to the guest's card on file, and the transaction will no longer appear on the account.

If the trip results in additional charges from overages or damages, all parties will agree to the charges during the closeout. RVezy will collect the agreed-upon amount from the security deposit (held funds) and then release any remaining funds to the guest's payment card on file.

***Note: RVezy offers an in-house support team to help resolve disputes or insurance claims when required.
