We visited Fundy national park, had a great time. Rv was clean , many features, toys for kids, for any question the hosts were replying quickly. They were flexible about dropping off the tv. Appreciated.

We had a wonderful experience with this camper rental! As a family of three, we had plenty of room to spare. I was able to store all of our food in the pantry and fridge with space left over, which worked perfectly for our four-day trip. Both the heater and air conditioner worked great, keeping us comfortable throughout. If you’re traveling with a toddler in a pack ’n play, it fits perfectly in one of the tent ends once you remove the mattress. Set-up and take-down were straightforward and quick, even with unpacking and repacking food and bags. Check-in and return were smooth and easy. All of the directions you need are posted inside the camper, which was super convenient. One tip: bring a few extra-thick blankets. The nights were chilly, and while the heater kept us cozy (especially with a little one), two adults alone would probably be fine with just some extra blankets. The tent end beside the bathroom doesn’t get quite as much heat due to the wall blocking airflow, but that’s more of a small observation than a drawback. Host was fantastic, very friendly, helpful, and kind during both pick-up and drop-off. We’d happily rent from them again!

Frequently asked questions about campgrounds near New Maryland, NB

Do I need a special licence to rent an RV in New Maryland?

In most cases, no. You can rent an RV in New Maryland with a regular Class 5 driver's licence, since most RVs available on RVezy fall under New Brunswick's standard licence weight limits, with no CDL or special endorsement required. Renters generally need to be 25 or older, and ID verification happens right in the RVezy app. Visiting from outside Canada? Bring your home licence and, if it isn't in English or French, an International Driving Permit for a smooth pickup near Fredericton. Pro tip: if you're eyeing a large Class A motorhome rental in New Maryland with air brakes, message the host first to confirm any endorsement needs before you book.

How much does an RV rental in New Maryland typically cost?

RV rental in New Maryland is one of the most affordable ways to explore the Saint John River Valley. What if I need to cancel my New Maryland RV booking?

Good news: RVezy (not individual hosts) sets the cancellation policy across the platform, and it includes a short money-back grace period right after booking so you can lock in your dates with confidence. Reach out to RVezy support any time and the team will walk you through your options. Pro tip: book early for July and August Mactaquac weekends and use the grace period to firm up plans with your travel crew.

What should I budget for fuel on a New Brunswick RV trip?

Fuel is the biggest variable cost, but it's easy to budget. Most Class C motorhomes get around 8 to 12 mpg (roughly 20 to 29 L/100km), and travel trailer fuel use depends on your tow vehicle. Gas prices in the Fredericton and New Maryland area are regulated weekly by the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board. A typical 500 km loop from New Maryland to Hopewell Rocks and back will burn a meaningful but predictable amount of fuel for a midsize motorhome. Pro tip: fill up in Oromocto or Lincoln on the way out, prices there are often a few cents cheaper than smaller villages along Route 114.

How far in advance should I book a campground?

Book early, especially for summer. New Brunswick provincial parks like Mactaquac, Fundy (provincial day-use areas), and Sugarloaf open reservations through the NB Parks portal each spring, and prime July and August weekends fill quickly. National park sites at Fundy National Park and Kouchibouguac go through the Parks Canada reservation system on a similar schedule. For private parks like Hartt Island, aim for 2 to 3 months ahead in peak season. Pro tip: midweek arrivals at Mactaquac (Sunday to Thursday) often have last-minute openings even in July, perfect if you grabbed a same-week RV rental.

What are the local driving conditions like around New Maryland?

Driving an RV around New Maryland is refreshingly relaxed. The village sits just off Route 101 with easy access to the Trans-Canada Highway (Route 2), and traffic is light compared with major Canadian metros. Roads are well-maintained two-lane and divided highways with gentle terrain along the Saint John River Valley. Watch for moose and white-tailed deer at dawn and dusk, especially on rural stretches toward Harvey and McAdam. Winter brings snow and ice from November through March, so most renters stick to mid-May through October. Pro tip: New Brunswick uses km/h, the default highway limit is 100 km/h and 50 km/h in town.

Many private parks also offer propane refill on-site. Pro tip: top up fresh water before you leave the host's place in New Maryland since some smaller Bay of Fundy campgrounds only have central spigots rather than site-side hookups.

What's actually inside a typical RV rental?

You'll feel right at home. Many include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, outdoor awning, and a generator for off-grid stays. Wi-Fi varies, some hosts include a hotspot, others recommend tethering to your phone. A campervan rental in New Maryland trades some space for nimble parking and great fuel economy. Pro tip: ask the host what kitchen kit is included so you only pack what you actually need.

What add-ons and pickup options are available?

Hosts on RVezy offer a great range of add-ons to make your trip turnkey, including linen and towel packages, kitchen kits, camping chairs, BBQs, generators, bike racks, and even kayaks. Pickup is typically at the host's address in or near New Maryland, with a 30 to 60 minute walkthrough included. Mileage policies vary by host but commonly include a daily kilometre allowance with extra kilometres at a set per-km rate, and some hosts offer RV rental with unlimited mileage for longer Fundy or PEI loops. Pro tip: bundle add-ons at booking time, asking later sometimes means they're already reserved.

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Payment is simple and secure. You pay through RVezy at booking using a credit card, with funds held until your trip starts and then released to the host. A refundable security deposit is also pre-authorized (not charged) before pickup, with the amount set by the host based on the RV, and it's released back to your card after the trip if there's no damage and the RV is returned in the same condition. Everything stays on-platform, so no cash changes hands in New Maryland driveways. Pro tip: use a credit card with a high enough limit to comfortably absorb the deposit hold so it doesn't squeeze your trip spending.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

Is winter RV rental possible from New Maryland?

Yes, and it's a true New Brunswick adventure. Some New Maryland and Fredericton hosts list winterized rigs with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and high-output furnaces, perfect for ski trips to Crabbe Mountain (about 45 minutes away) or quiet snowshoeing weekends at Mactaquac Provincial Park, which offers winter day-use access. Expect cold daytime temperatures in January and February, so plan for shore power hookups since boondocking on propane alone burns through fuel quickly in deep cold. Pro tip: filter for hosts who explicitly mention winter use in their listing and confirm tank heaters are installed before booking.
