Jared was great communicating with us and delivering and picking up the camper when he said he would. The camper was perfect for our needs. Was clean and well maintained. Would definitely rent from Jared again!

Worked out great! Easy to drive and was plenty of space!

Scott W. - Oct 2024

Shannon was very easy to deal with. He was very easy to communicate with, very cooperative and helpful, even to tne degree of having to come to the rv and help with getting the bed to extend. The area that need some attention was the rv was just returned from a prior rental and the owner was not able to service the unit. It was not clean and the prior renter returned the unit needing some attention as a result I am requesting a return of the cleaning fee in addition to my Deposit of $1000.

Frequently asked questions about campgrounds near Maumelle, AR

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Maumelle, Arkansas?

RV rental in Maumelle is one of the more affordable ways to explore central Arkansas. On RVezy, you can typically expect travel trailers from about $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes around $150 to $250 per night, and larger Class A coaches from $250 and up. Pricing depends on the season, the RV's age and features, and the host's mileage policy. To find a cheap RV rental in Maumelle, search midweek dates, book outside peak spring and summer weekends, and filter for hosts offering local delivery. Many Maumelle hosts also offer weekly discounts, so a five to seven night stay near the Arkansas River often costs less per night than a weekend booking.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Maumelle, Arkansas?

For almost every RV you'll rent in Maumelle, your regular Class D driver's license is all you need. Under Arkansas Code 27-23-111, a Class D license covers any non-commercial vehicle, including the Class B campervans, Class C motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels that make up the vast majority of RVezy listings in the area. You'll need to be 25 or older with a valid license, and RVezy verifies your ID right inside the booking flow. Visiting from another country? Bring your home license plus an International Driving Permit (usually under $25 from your local auto club) and you're set to rent an RV in Maumelle with zero extra paperwork.

What protection and roadside coverage is included with my Maumelle RV rental?

You are covered from the moment you book. Every RVezy booking in Maumelle includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so a flat tire on Highway 10 or a dead battery at Maumelle Park is one phone call away from being handled. The protection plan helps cover accidental damage to the RV during your trip, and you choose your coverage level at checkout based on how much extra peace of mind you want. Coverage levels and inclusions are set by RVezy, not the host, which keeps things simple and transparent for every rent an RV in Maumelle booking.

What is the cancellation policy if my Maumelle trip plans change?

Booking your Maumelle RV trip is low risk. RVezy sets the cancellation policy centrally, not the host, so you get the same protections no matter which listing you choose. Refund amounts depend on how far out you cancel from your trip start date, and host-initiated cancellations result in a full refund or RVezy credit for the guest. Because Arkansas spring weather can occasionally bring severe storms, it is smart to book early to lock in the best Pinnacle Mountain and Arkansas River weekends, then review the full cancellation terms in your booking confirmation before your trip.

Can I bring my dog on a Maumelle RV trip?

Absolutely. Pet-friendly RV rental Maumelle options are everywhere on RVezy — just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter and you'll see dozens of motorhomes and travel trailers whose hosts welcome four-legged co-pilots. Maumelle is a dream destination for dog owners: Maumelle Park (the Corps of Engineers campground on Pinnacle Valley Road) is pet-friendly with shaded riverside sites and walking loops, and the leashed-dog trails at Pinnacle Mountain State Park and Two Rivers Park are minutes away. Bring proof of vaccinations, a long leash, and a clean-up plan — Maumelle Park rangers have noted leash and waste rules are taken seriously. Confirm any pet fee with your host in the messaging thread before you book.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in Maumelle?

Yes, and delivery is one of the easiest ways to start your trip. Many Maumelle hosts offer RV delivery, meaning they will tow or drive the RV to your campsite, level it, hook up water and 30/50 amp power, and walk you through every system before handing over the keys. Maumelle Park on the Arkansas River and Downtown Riverside RV Park in North Little Rock are common drop-off points. Filter listings by Delivery on RVezy to see which hosts offer it and their delivery radius and fees. Delivery is a great option for anyone first time renting an RV, since you can skip driving a large rig until you are comfortable.

How far can I drive on a Maumelle RV trip, and what about mileage limits?

You've got plenty of range to play with. Most Maumelle hosts include 100 to 150 free miles per night, and some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage for longer road trips — look for the Unlimited Mileage badge when you search. From Maumelle you can reach Hot Springs National Park in about 75 minutes (55 miles), Petit Jean State Park in 90 minutes (70 miles), Buffalo National River in around 3 hours (150 miles), Memphis in 2.5 hours (140 miles), and the Ouachita National Forest in under an hour. If you're planning a bigger loop, message the host before booking to negotiate a mileage package — many will bundle extra miles at a discount.

Where are the best campgrounds near Maumelle for RV camping?

Maumelle has excellent RV camping nearby. The top pick is Maumelle Park, a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground at 9009 Pinnacle Valley Road with spacious sites, water and 30/50 amp electric hookups, hot showers, and a dump station right on the Arkansas River. Downtown Riverside RV Park in North Little Rock offers full hookups and is a short walk to the River Market district. Pinnacle Mountain State Park day-use area is minutes away for hiking, and Cabot/Willow Beach Corps campgrounds make solid alternates. For RV camping Maumelle visitors love most, reserve riverside loops at Maumelle Park as early as possible through Recreation.gov.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Maumelle?

Maumelle has a humid subtropical climate, so the sweet spots are April, May, September, and October, when daytime highs sit comfortably between 70°F and 85°F and the Big Maumelle River is perfect for paddling. Summers (June through August) are hot and muggy with highs near 92°F — totally doable in a rig with strong AC, but plan early-morning hikes at Pinnacle Mountain. Winters are mild (highs in the low 50s, occasional light snow), and many local hosts rent year-round. Pro tip: late October brings stunning fall color along the Arkansas River Trail, and wintering bald eagles return to the river in January and February, making for a magical off-season trip.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I be able to handle it?

You'll do great, and you won't be alone. Every Maumelle host gives a full walkthrough at pickup or delivery covering propane, water, slide-outs, generator, leveling, and dumping — and most provide a printed cheat sheet or a video link you can re-watch at the campground. Start with a Class C motorhome or smaller travel trailer for your first time renting an RV; both drive much like a large pickup. The roads around Maumelle are easygoing: Highway 10 to Pinnacle Mountain has wide shoulders, and I-430 has standard clearances. You can also message the host through RVezy any time during your trip, and 24/7 roadside assistance is one tap away.

What happens if I break down or have a problem on the road?

Help is always close by. Every RVezy booking in Maumelle comes with 24/7 roadside assistance baked into the protection package, covering things like flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, and fuel delivery. If anything goes wrong on Interstate 40, Highway 10, or out near Lake Maumelle, one phone call dispatches a local provider to your location. You can also message your host directly through the RVezy app for tips on quirks they know about (every RV has a few), and the RVezy support team is reachable before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: snap a photo of the nearest mile marker if you pull over — it speeds up the response time dramatically.

Can I take a Maumelle RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Yes, interstate travel is welcomed by most Maumelle hosts. A popular RV road trip from Maumelle heads west to Hot Springs and the Ouachita National Forest, north to the Buffalo National River and Branson, Missouri (about 3.5 hours), or east to Memphis, Tennessee (about 2.5 hours). Cross-border travel into Canada is allowed by many hosts as long as you confirm your route in advance through the RVezy message thread so the trip can be approved. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage does not extend there. Share your full route with the host at booking so they can pre-approve everything in one step.

What kind of fuel mileage and gas budget should I expect?

Budgeting fuel for a Maumelle RV trip is easier than most renters think. Class B campervans get roughly 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes 8 to 12 MPG, and large Class A coaches 6 to 9 MPG. Travel trailers don't burn fuel themselves but will drop your tow vehicle's mileage by 30 to 40 percent. Gas in central Arkansas typically runs below the national average, with stations along I-40, I-430, and Maumelle Boulevard offering the easiest big-rig pull-ins. A weekend round trip from Maumelle to Hot Springs and back (about 110 miles) usually costs $40 to $70 in a Class C. Pro tip: GasBuddy plus the Pilot/Flying J app along I-40 will save you real money on longer routes.

How far ahead do I need to book a campground near Maumelle?

For most of the year, two to four weeks ahead is plenty — but plan further out for prime weekends. Maumelle Park reservations open six months in advance through Recreation.gov, and riverside sites for spring weekends, Memorial Day, July 4th, and the fall color season (mid-October to early November) book up the same day they release. Arkansas State Parks campgrounds use the Arkansas State Parks reservation system and also open six months ahead. Pro tip: if your dates are full, set a Recreation.gov availability alert — cancellations are common, especially within 14 days of arrival, since Maumelle Park enforces a 14-day stay limit that creates frequent turnover.

What are the local driving conditions like around Maumelle?

Driving an RV around Maumelle is refreshingly stress-free. The town sits just off Interstate 40 with wide lanes, gentle grades, and standard 13'6" bridge clearances throughout the metro. Highway 10 west toward Pinnacle Mountain is scenic and easy, and Maumelle Boulevard is a 4-lane city street perfect for warming up before hitting the interstate. Watch out for occasional spring thunderstorms (April through June can bring strong winds — pull off if you see tornado warnings), and use lower gears on the climbs heading toward the Ouachita Mountains. Avoid downtown Little Rock's River Market district in a large rig — narrow streets and low parking decks. Stick to the I-430/I-630 loop and you'll be golden.
ardot.gov/travel-information/idrive-arkansas/

What hookups and amenities do Maumelle-area campgrounds offer?

Campgrounds around Maumelle are well equipped for any rig. Maumelle Park provides water and 30/50 amp electric at its sites, with a centralized dump station, hot showers, drinking water, and a boat ramp on the Arkansas River. Individual sewer hookups are not available, so plan to use the dump station on your way out. Downtown Riverside RV Park in North Little Rock offers full hookups including sewer, plus WiFi. Fresh water fills are easiest near the Maumelle Park entrance, so top off your tank when you arrive and you will have plenty for the whole stay.
recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/233098

What's actually inside a typical RV rental in Maumelle?

More than you might expect. A typical Class C or travel trailer on RVezy in Maumelle sleeps 4 to 7 people in a queen bed, bunk beds, and a convertible dinette, plus a full kitchen with stove, microwave, fridge/freezer, and sink. You'll have a wet bath with toilet and shower, roof AC, propane furnace, and a flat-screen TV. Many hosts include WiFi hotspots, outdoor speakers, and a generator for boondocking. Class A motorhomes step it up with king beds, residential fridges, and washer/dryers. Seatbelts are provided for the number of passengers the RV is rated for — always confirm the legal seatbelt count with your host if you're traveling with a bigger group on your family RV trip Maumelle.

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about?

Maumelle hosts make it easy to customize your motorhome rental Maumelle experience. Popular add-ons include linen and towel packages ($25–$75), camp chairs and outdoor mats ($20–$40), portable grills, kayaks or SUPs (perfect for the Little Maumelle River), generators, and pet packages. Pickup is usually at the host's home in Maumelle or nearby Little Rock, North Little Rock, or Conway, and delivery is widely available for $1–$3 per mile. Mileage policies vary by listing — most include 100–150 free miles per night with overage at $0.30–$0.50 per mile. Pro tip: bundle delivery, setup, and a linen package for a true "turnkey" trip where you literally just bring groceries and clothes.

How do payments and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple, secure, and handled entirely through RVezy, so you never pay the host directly. When you book, you pay the rental total plus your chosen protection plan and any add-ons by credit or debit card. A refundable security deposit, separate from your booking payment, is pre-authorized on your card before pickup rather than charged, and released after the host confirms the RV was returned clean and undamaged. To avoid surprises, do a walk-around video at pickup and drop-off, follow the host's fuel and tank-dumping instructions, and stay within your mileage allowance or pre-purchase extra miles.

What's a local insider tip for getting the most out of Maumelle?

Here's the move locals don't always share: park your RV at Maumelle Park, then pedal (don't drive) the Arkansas River Trail across the Big Dam Bridge — the longest pedestrian/bike bridge in North America built specifically for non-motorized traffic. You can ride a 15- to 88-mile loop connecting Maumelle, Two Rivers Park, downtown Little Rock's River Market, and back, never sharing a lane with a car. Most Maumelle RV hosts will throw in bikes as an add-on or know which neighbor to call. Cap the day with BBQ at Whole Hog Cafe or craft beer at Lost Forty Brewing in Little Rock, then roll back to your campsite for sunset over the river. That's a Maumelle RV trip done right.
