Springbrook State Park is a 930-acre natural retreat nestled in the rolling hills of Guthrie County, Iowa, offering a peaceful escape for RV travelers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Located just outside Guthrie Center, this beloved Iowa state park features mature timber, open prairies, and a scenic 17-acre lake stocked with crappie, largemouth bass, and bluegill. The campground offers both electric and non-electric sites, including ADA-accessible options, with full hookups available at 50-amp service, water hookups, modern showers, restrooms, and a dump station. Pull-through sites make it easy for larger rigs to settle in comfortably. Guests can explore over 12 miles of hiking and biking trails winding through timber and prairie, launch a kayak or boat from one of two boat ramps, or enjoy a swim at the sandy beach. A playground, picnic tables, grills, and covered shelters round out the family-friendly atmosphere. Many of the park's structures were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, lending a historic charm throughout the grounds. Pets are welcome, making Springbrook an ideal destination for four-legged adventure companions. Reservations can be made through the Iowa State Parks ReserveAmerica system.
