Fickle Lake Provincial Recreational Area sits in Alberta's lower foothills, approximately 31 kilometers southwest of Edson off Highway 47. This scenic recreation area features pristine wilderness with mixed forest of lodgepole pine, aspen poplar, and white spruce.
The campground provides essential amenities including picnic tables, water hookups, firewood, grills, and toilet facilities, along with a boat launch. The lake offers excellent fishing for northern pike, lake whitefish, walleye, and yellow perch, making it ideal for anglers.
Visitors enjoy boating (with a 12 km/hr speed restriction), canoeing, kayaking, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, and fat biking. The historic Trapline Trail provides an easy lakeside walk through the forest, following routes used by local trappers in the early 1900s.
