Best time to visit Aiguebelle National Park

Late June through early September offers the most reliable RV conditions, with warm days, open campgrounds, and full access to trails and the suspension bridge. July and August are the busiest months and reservations are recommended well in advance. Early autumn brings vivid boreal foliage and fewer bugs, though nights turn cold quickly. Spring can be wet with lingering blackflies and mosquitoes, so shoulder-season RVers should pack accordingly.

How to get to Aiguebelle National Park

The park is roughly a 45-minute drive east of Rouyn-Noranda and about 1 hour 15 minutes northwest of Val-d'Or, the two main service hubs in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region. From Montreal, expect a drive of around 630 kilometres (about 7 hours) via Route 117, a paved but remote highway through the La Vérendrye wildlife reserve with long stretches between fuel stops. The final approach to the park uses narrower rural roads with some gravel sections, so drivers of larger rigs should check current road conditions with Sépaq before arrival. The nearest airport for fly-and-rent travellers is Rouyn-Noranda Airport (YUY), with Val-d'Or Airport (YVO) as an alternative.
