Late June through early September offers the warmest, driest weather and the most reliable access for a roadside stop on the Fundy shore. July and August bring peak visitation to the Digby area, so mornings and late afternoons are quieter for photography. May, June, and September are pleasant shoulder months with cooler temperatures and fewer travellers. Winter access is limited and the picnic facilities are not maintained for cold-weather use.
Day-use facilities not maintained; winter conditions on access road
Day-use facilities not maintained; snow and ice possible
Shoulder season; limited services, cold winds off the Bay of Fundy
Cool and often foggy; picnic areas may be unmaintained early in the month
Mild spring days; good time for quiet visits
Pleasant conditions; regional campgrounds opening
Peak visitation in the Digby area
Warmest water temps in the basin; busy summer traffic
Comfortable shoulder-season travel; fewer crowds
Fall colour across the Annapolis Valley; cool mornings
Late-season storms; day-use visits only, weather permitting

The main attraction is the look-off itself, a hillside viewpoint with panoramic views across the Annapolis Basin toward Digby. It is an easy walk from the parking area to the viewing spot and is ideal for photography and short breaks.
Tables at the look-off make the park a convenient spot for a roadside lunch with a view. Travellers often combine the stop with a seafood pickup from nearby Digby, which is famous for its scallops.
A short drive from the park leads to Digby's working waterfront, where visitors can stroll past the scallop fleet and wharves. The walk is flat and suitable for most travellers.
About 35 minutes east, Annapolis Royal offers heritage streetscapes, the Historic Gardens, and Fort Anne National Historic Site. Street and lot parking accommodates smaller RVs and tow vehicles.
From the look-off, travellers can continue down the Digby Neck peninsula toward Long Island and Brier Island for whale watching and coastal scenery. The drive includes two short ferry crossings with vehicle fees.
East of the look-off near Upper Clements, travellers find walking trails and family attractions along the basin. Large gravel lots provide space for RV parking.
The Annapolis Basin connects to the Bay of Fundy, home to the highest tides in the world. Stopping at the look-off at different times of day shows dramatic changes in water level across the basin.
We had a great experience! Would recommend to others.

Dave was great. Very helpful with set up and initial walk through. Trailer was extremely clean and everything is in perfect working order.

Annapolis Basin Look Off Provincial Park, NS, Canada
The park sits along the Highway 101 corridor in western Nova Scotia, about a 5 to 10 minute drive from Digby and roughly 35 minutes (about 35 km) from Annapolis Royal. From Halifax it is approximately a 2.5 to 3 hour drive, around 230 km west via Highway 101. RV drivers should watch for steep approach grades to the look-off pull-in, a compact paved parking area that can be tight for longer motorhomes and trailers, and seasonal shoulder conditions on secondary roads. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ).
