July and August offer the warmest, driest weather and the best conditions for swimming, paddling and beach days on Saanich Inlet. The park is very popular in the summer months, and can be busy as well in June, when a number of nearby schools make field trips to study the intertidal life on the beach. Late spring and September are strong shoulder-season options for RV travellers seeking quieter campsites and mild temperatures. Winter stays are typically limited, as services are reduced outside the operating season.

The park's 225 metre long sandy beach is the main attraction, ideal for wading, lounging, and enjoying views across Saanich Inlet. The route from the day-use parking lot to the beach is wheelchair-accessible and paved. bcparks.ca/bamberton-park/
A 1.5 km trail connects the campground to the beach at the day-use area, and is steep in parts. It passes through second-growth Douglas fir and arbutus forest typical of southern Vancouver Island. bcparks.ca/bamberton-park/
Paddlers can put in at the beach area, and the sheltered inlet around Bamberton is a great paddling location, offering views of Mount Baker and the Saanich Peninsula. Canoes and kayaks are well suited to the calm waters. bcparks.ca/bamberton-park/
The waters surrounding Mill Bay are a popular destination for local anglers seeking a variety of salmon and rock fish. Anyone fishing in British Columbia must have an appropriate licence. bcparks.ca/bamberton-park/
The park features an interesting intertidal zone, popular with school groups who visit to study the marine life. Visitors should carefully place overturned rocks in their original position and not touch marine life or remove shells or organisms from the park. bcparks.ca/bamberton-park/
BC Ferries offers service from Mill Bay to Brentwood Bay, a distance of 8 km by sea with a crossing time of 25 minutes. From Brentwood Bay, visitors can reach the world-renowned Butchart Gardens. bcparks.ca/bamberton-park/
There are opportunities for windsurfing at this park. Launching is from the day-use beach, with the sheltered inlet offering manageable conditions for intermediate paddlers and boarders. bcparks.ca/bamberton-park/
This was our first time renting a trailer and it was awesome! Mark and his wife were lovely people and it was a pleasure meeting and communicating with them. We had everything we needed in the trailer and it worked perfectly for where we were with no hookups. Anytime we had questions, Mark was very quick to answer and explained everything about the trailer before they left. Thank you so much guys! :)

Bamberton Provincial Park, BC, Canada
The park sits on southern Vancouver Island, roughly 45 km north of Victoria off Highway 1, with the turnoff east onto Mill Bay Road near the north end of the scenic Malahat Drive. Bamberton Park is located a five minute drive south of Mill Bay. RV drivers should prepare for the Malahat, a winding mountain highway with steep grades and sharp curves that can be slow going for larger rigs, especially in wet or windy weather. The nearest major airport is Victoria International Airport (YYJ), about an hour south, making it practical for fly-and-rent RV trips.
