Late June through early September offers the warmest weather, swimmable lake temperatures, and full campground services, though this is also the busiest season and advance reservations are essential. May and late September are strong shoulder options for RVers seeking cooler temperatures, fewer crowds, and easier site availability. Spring brings green hillsides and active wildlife, while early fall adds golden cottonwoods along the creek delta.

The park features over 400 metres of sandy beach directly on Okanagan Lake, ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and paddling. The beach is an easy walk from the campground loops and connects to the day-use area. bcparks.ca/bear-creek-park/
This loop climbs above the Bear Creek canyon for sweeping views of the creek, waterfalls, and Okanagan Lake below. The trail is part of roughly 5 kilometres of well-marked hiking paths within the park. bcparks.ca/bear-creek-park/
A shorter walk that follows Bear Creek through the bottom of the canyon past small falls and pools. The route is forested, shaded, and popular with families.
Okanagan Lake provides extensive waterskiing, jetskiing, and boating opportunities right off the park's shoreline. Jetski and boat rentals are available at Lake Okanagan Resort, about 10 minutes north on Westside Road. bcparks.ca/bear-creek-park/
Anglers can fish from shore or boat for rainbow trout, kokanee, and other species found in Okanagan Lake. A valid BC freshwater fishing licence is required.
The canyon and delta host swallows, hawks, owls, and coyotes, along with noisy tree frogs in spring and crickets in summer. Early morning and dusk are the best viewing windows from trails and the creek delta. bcparks.ca/bear-creek-park/
Cycling is permitted on park roadways, offering a mellow ride between the campground loops, beach, and day-use areas. Mountain biking is not permitted on the park's hiking trails, and helmets are mandatory in British Columbia. bcparks.ca/bear-creek-park/

We had a great trip in Osoyoos thanks to Bjorn and his trailer. The trailer is in good condition and comes with a king bed which was an unexpected highlight of the trip. Bjorn was very helpful throughout the booking and delivery process and communicated with us every step of the way. Very happy with our experience and we would absolutely rent from Bjorn again.

Bear Creek Provincial Park, BC, Canada
The park is about 9 km from downtown Kelowna via the William R. Bennett Bridge and Westside Road, roughly a 15 to 20 minute drive. From Vancouver the trip is approximately 390 km (about 4.5 hours) east via Highway 97C, and from Calgary it is about 600 km (roughly 7 hours) west on Highway 1 and Highway 97. RV drivers should note that Westside Road is narrow and winding with blind curves and rolling grades, so take the route slowly and watch for cyclists. The nearest airport for fly-and-rent travellers is Kelowna International Airport (YLW), about 30 km from the park.
