Late June through August is the prime window for RV travel, when lake temperatures are swimmable, all campground loops are open, and area roads are snow-free. July and early August see the largest crowds and highest demand for hookup sites, so reservations fill months in advance. Shoulder months of May, early June, September, and early October bring cooler nights, fewer visitors, and discounted marina activity, though water amenities and some loops may be limited. Winter visitation focuses on ice fishing for Bonneville cisco in January, but most developed RV facilities are closed.

Rendezvous Beach is the park's largest developed beach and campground, located on the south shore near Laketown. It offers a mile of sandy shoreline, swim areas, boat rentals, and direct RV access to full- and partial-hookup loops. stateparks.utah.gov/parks/bear-lake/
Bear Lake Marina is the primary boating hub on the west shore just north of Garden City. The marina provides boat launches, slip rentals, fuel, and a protected harbor suitable for sailing and powerboating on the open lake.
Cisco Beach is a rocky, clear-water beach on the quieter east shore known for scuba diving and winter ice fishing for the Bonneville cisco. Access is via a gravel road and parking is best suited to smaller RVs and tow vehicles.
Limber Pine Nature Trail is a 1.3 mile interpretive loop at Bear Lake Summit off US-89 in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. The trail circles a grove of ancient limber pines and delivers a panoramic overlook of Bear Lake, with a paved trailhead parking area that accommodates RVs.
The Logan Canyon Scenic Byway is a 41-mile drive along US-89 between Logan and Garden City that climbs through limestone cliffs and aspen stands before descending to Bear Lake. Numerous pullouts offer photo stops, though the grade and curves demand caution in larger rigs.
Bear Lake hosts four endemic fish species, including the Bonneville cisco, drawn by dip-netters during the January spawning run at Cisco Beach. Summer anglers target lake trout, cutthroat, and whitefish from boats launched at the marina or Rendezvous Beach.
Bear Lake's turquoise water is the park's defining draw for swimmers, kayakers, and paddleboarders. Calm morning conditions are best for paddling, as strong afternoon winds often build whitecaps on the open lake.

Bear Lake State Park, UT, United States
From Salt Lake City, the drive is about 130 miles and roughly 2.5 hours north via I-15 and US-89 through Logan Canyon to Garden City. From Logan, Utah, the park is about 40 miles east, approximately 50 minutes, over US-89 through Logan Canyon, a steep two-lane mountain pass with tight curves, grades approaching 7 percent, and long drops that require low gear for larger RVs and trailers. Travelers from the north can approach via US-89 from Montpelier, Idaho, a flatter route preferred by longer rigs. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC).
