Late May through September offers the most comfortable conditions for hiking, picnicking, and wildlife viewing, with warm temperatures and long daylight hours. June brings lush greenery and active birdlife, while September delivers cooler air and golden fall colours in the river-bottom forest. Winter visits from December through March are popular for cross-country skiing and tobogganing when snow cover is reliable. Spring runoff along the Assiniboine can temporarily flood low-lying trails, so mid to late spring is the weakest shoulder window.

A network of hiking trails winds through floodplain forest of bur oak, basswood, and Manitoba maple along the Assiniboine River. Loops range from short interpretive walks to longer routes suited to a half-day outing. The main trailhead has a paved day-use parking area that can accommodate larger vehicles.
The park is a prime birding spot in the Red River Valley, with pileated woodpeckers, warblers, and migratory songbirds active in spring and summer. Quiet morning walks along the forest loops offer the best sightings. Binoculars and a field guide are recommended.
Shaded picnic tables and open grassy areas sit near the river and trailheads, ideal for a lunch stop while exploring. The day-use area is equipped with washrooms during the warm season. It is a convenient pull-off for RV travellers on the Trans-Canada Highway.
In winter, the park maintains groomed classic cross-country ski trails that follow the summer hiking loops. Terrain is gentle and well-suited to beginners and families. Skiers should bring their own equipment as rentals are not available on site.
A designated toboggan slide operates during winter when snow conditions allow. It is a popular family activity and pairs well with the ski trails for a full winter day out. Warm layers and sleds are required.
White-tailed deer, red fox, snowshoe hare, and the occasional porcupine can be spotted along the quieter trail sections. Dawn and dusk are the most productive times. Visitors should keep a respectful distance and stay on marked paths.
The riparian forest, river views, and changing seasonal foliage make the park a rewarding stop for landscape and wildlife photography. Autumn colours in September and frost-covered trees in midwinter are highlights. Tripods are easy to set up along the wide, level trails.

Beaudry Provincial Park, MB, Canada
The park sits just off Provincial Road 241 near Headingley, about a 20 to 25 minute drive west of downtown Winnipeg via the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1). From Portage la Prairie to the west it is roughly an hour by road. Winnipeg Richardson International Airport is the closest major airport for fly-and-rent travellers, about 20 kilometres east of the park. Access roads are flat prairie driving with no tunnels or mountain grades, making the approach straightforward for any RV size, though the park itself is day-use only so overnight parking is not permitted.
