Late spring through early fall, roughly May to October, offers the most comfortable weather for walking the park grounds, picnicking, and enjoying the outdoor mineral pools when seasonal facilities are open. Summer brings warm days well suited to soaking and outdoor swimming, but it is also the busiest time, so weekday visits help avoid crowds. Autumn shoulder season delivers crisp air, colorful Appalachian foliage, and lighter traffic on the mountain roads leading into town. Winter visits focus on indoor mineral baths, since outdoor pool facilities are closed during the cold months.

The Main Bathhouse provides mineral baths along with massage therapy and other spa services in a historic setting. It operates year round, making it a reliable winter activity when outdoor facilities are closed.
The park's outdoor pool is filled with mineral spring water and is open seasonally during the warmer months. It is a popular summer draw for families visiting the historic district.
Stroll the small downtown park grounds where the warm mineral springs surface into stone-lined pools. Interpretive plaques explain the site's role as one of America's earliest mineral spa destinations.
The park sits within the walkable historic district of Bath, also known as Berkeley Springs, with shops, galleries, and restaurants steps from the springs. RV travelers should park larger rigs at the edge of town and walk in.
Berkeley Castle is a historic stone residence on a hill overlooking the town and the state park. The Castle has long been a local landmark visible from the park grounds.
Cacapon Resort State Park is a short drive south of Berkeley Springs and offers hiking trails, a lake, and mountain views. It pairs well with a Berkeley Springs visit for travelers wanting a fuller outdoor day.

Berkeley Springs State Park, WV, United States
The park sits in the town of Bath (Berkeley Springs), West Virginia, just off US Route 522. From Hagerstown, Maryland, it is roughly a 40 mile, 50 minute drive south, and from Winchester, Virginia, it is about 40 miles north. Washington, D.C. and Baltimore are each roughly 100 to 110 miles away, generally a two to two and a half hour drive. RV travelers should note that US 522 is a winding two-lane road through the Appalachian foothills with rolling grades and tight turns through the town center, where on-street parking is limited for larger rigs. The closest major airports for fly-and-rent trips are Washington Dulles (IAD), about 90 miles east, and Pittsburgh (PIT), about 170 miles northwest.
