Late November through April offers the most comfortable conditions for RV travel, with lower humidity, cooler nights, calmer seas for boating, and fewer mosquitoes. This is also the busiest season at the Dante Fascell Visitor Center, so arrive early for parking and programs. Shoulder months of May and October bring warm water and thinner crowds but also rising heat, afternoon thunderstorms, and an active Atlantic hurricane season. Summer visits are possible but hot, buggy, and subject to tropical weather that can close the bay to boating.

The Dante Fascell Visitor Center at Convoy Point is the main land-based hub of Biscayne National Park, offering exhibits, a park film, and a shoreline boardwalk. Visitors can stroll the boardwalk looking for marine wildlife, learn about shipwrecks and pioneering families, and pick up information for on-water trips. RV parking is available in the main lot. nps.gov/bisc/planyourvisit/directions.htm
Ranger-supported guided eco-adventures depart from the Dante Fascell Visitor Center and are the easiest way to reach the islands and reefs without a private boat. Tours typically include bay cruises, snorkeling trips, and paddling excursions. Reservations are recommended, especially during the peak winter season. nps.gov/bisc/planyourvisit/guidedtours.htm
Biscayne protects part of the only living coral reef system in the continental United States, accessible by boat or guided tour. Snorkelers explore reef patches, seagrass beds, and shipwrecks teeming with tropical fish. Best conditions occur on calm, sunny days from late fall through spring. nps.gov/bisc/planyourvisit/outdooractivities.htm
Canoeing and kayaking are ideal ways to experience the mangrove-fringed shorelines and shallow bay waters along the park's western edge. Paddlers can launch from Convoy Point and explore creeks and flats rich with wading birds and juvenile fish. Bring sun protection and plenty of water. nps.gov/bisc/planyourvisit/outdooractivities.htm
Biscayne Bay is a renowned destination for saltwater fishing, with opportunities for bonefish, snapper, grouper, and tarpon. A Florida saltwater fishing license is required, and anglers should review park regulations on protected species and closed zones. Access is by private boat, charter, or shoreline at Convoy Point. nps.gov/bisc/planyourvisit/outdooractivities.htm
Boca Chita Key is the park's most visited island, known for its ornamental lighthouse, harbor, and picnic areas. Reached by private boat or guided tour, the key offers short walking paths, bayside views, and a glimpse of the park's early 20th century history. Day visits pair well with snorkeling stops en route. nps.gov/bisc/planyourvisit/things2do.htm
Biscayne offers a lineup of ranger-led activities including shoreline snorkeling, guided canoe trips, dip-netting programs, and porch talks. Most programs are free and take place at the Dante Fascell Visitor Center. Offerings are most extensive from late November through April. nps.gov/bisc/planyourvisit/things2do.htm

I recently had the pleasure of renting Mark and Cyndi's RV for a two-week vacation across Florida, and I cannot recommend them enough! The entire process, from the initial inquiry to returning the RV, was seamless, professional, and friendly. Here's what made my experience exceptional: Communication: Mark and Cyndi were prompt, clear, and informative in their communication. They made sure I knew everything I needed to before embarking on my adventure and were readily available to answer any questions I had during my trip. The RV: Their RV was in pristine condition and exceptionally clean. It was evident that they take great pride in maintaining their vehicle. The RV was spacious, comfortable, and equipped with all the essential amenities, making my vacation feel like a true "home away from home." Orientation and Support: Upon pickup, Mark and Cyndi provided a thorough orientation of the RV, ensuring I was comfortable with all its features and operations. They also provided a comprehensive guidebook and videos, which were extremely helpful during the trip. Additionally, they were always just a phone call away whenever I needed assistance or had questions.

Biscayne National Park, FL, United States
The Dante Fascell Visitor Center at Convoy Point is about 9 miles east of Homestead, Florida, and roughly a 45 to 60 minute drive south of downtown Miami via the Florida Turnpike or US-1. From Florida City, follow SW 328th Street (North Canal Drive) east to the park entrance. Access roads are flat, sea-level, and RV friendly with no tunnels, mountain passes, or steep grades, though low clearances and tight turns can occur in older neighborhoods, so stick to the signed truck routes. Miami International Airport (MIA) is the nearest major airport for fly-and-rent travelers, about 35 to 45 miles north of the park.
