Late June through early September offers the warmest weather, long daylight hours, and fully dry trails, which is ideal for RV travel on PEI. September and early October are excellent shoulder-season choices, with cooler hiking temperatures, fewer bugs, and fall colour in the hardwood canopy. Late spring can be muddy after snowmelt, and winter brings snow and unmaintained access, so most RVers visit between mid-May and mid-October.

The park is primarily known for its multi-use hiking and mountain-biking trails winding through mature Acadian forest. Loops range from short family walks to longer routes that connect with adjacent conservation lands. Trailhead parking is available at main access points off Route 1.
Bonshaw is one of the most popular mountain-biking destinations on Prince Edward Island, with rolling singletrack through hardwood forest. Trails are signed and mapped for varied skill levels. Riders should yield to hikers on shared sections.
Adjacent Strathgartney Provincial Park complements a Bonshaw visit with additional forested trails and a serviced campground suitable for RVs. It sits minutes away along Route 1 and offers dump-station access and views over the West River.
The West River below the park is a calm tidal waterway popular with kayakers and canoeists. Launches are located downstream in Bonshaw village and at other community access points. Check tide times before setting out.
Bonshaw Hills supports one of PEI's largest contiguous forest blocks, making it a reliable spot for songbirds, woodpeckers, and red fox. Early mornings in late spring and early summer are most productive. Bring binoculars and walk quietly on the side trails.
Charlottetown is about 25 minutes east and offers historic waterfront, provincial museums, and full RV services. It pairs well with a morning hike at Bonshaw and an afternoon in the city. Large RV-friendly parking is available at select lots on the city outskirts.
A short drive south brings RVers to Argyle Shore Provincial Park on the Northumberland Strait, known for its warm-water red-sand beach. It is a classic PEI day-use stop after a morning in the hills. Parking accommodates trailers and motorhomes.
Great communication, nice, clean camper. Tyler was very friendly and accommodating, would definitely rent again!

Great experience! Host was great to communicate with!

This trip was amazing! It all started the day before we were supposed to pick up the RV, I was admitted into the hospital to have my appendix removed. Our hosts had a few days after we finished our original trip so they bumped it four days to accommodate our trip. We changed our plans but it worked out for the best. We traveled all around the south part of Nova Scotia, staying at The Ovens, Scallywags in Clare and then the last stop was at the campground at the Blomidon Lookoff. The RV was absolutely perfect from start to finish and for the size of it was very good on fuel. $465 for just over 1200km in a F-450, which is great fuel mileage. We normally go testing but tried this, our next testing camping trip will be horrible. Lol. We will feel spoiled. If you are considering this size of vehicle and this style of trip, this vehicle and host make the experience so much better! Book it while you can!

The rv was just the right size for our family of 5 to create a memorable trip. The rv is fully equipped, has plenty of power to climb and safely descend Cape Bretons Cabot trail and surroundings plus tons of little extras. We were actually impressed by the fuel consumption and handling of this rv. All being said, we agree with pretty much all the previous reviews. The host(s) were spot on and adaptive to our needs. Once again, no regrets going with RVezy.

Bonshaw Hills Provincial Park, PE, Canada
The park lies roughly 25 km west of Charlottetown, about a 25 minute drive via the Trans-Canada Highway (Route 1) and the Bonshaw area exits. Summerside is about 45 km to the northwest, roughly 40 minutes by RV. Charlottetown (YYG) is the nearest airport for fly-and-rent trips. RVers entering PEI from the mainland should note the Confederation Bridge toll is collected on departure and that the bridge has high-wind advisories for high-profile vehicles; rural access roads near the park are paved but narrow with tight shoulders, so drive slowly and watch for cyclists.
