Late June through August is the prime window, with warm Gulf of St. Lawrence air, long daylight hours, and all park facilities, beaches, and golf courses in full operation. July and August bring peak crowds and the warmest river swimming, so reservations for serviced RV sites should be made well in advance. Early September is an excellent shoulder season for RV travel: weather is still mild, bugs are fewer, and campground traffic drops sharply after Labour Day. Spring visits in May and early June can be cool and wet, and some services may not be fully open yet.

A supervised, sandy beach and day-use area sit along the Brudenell River near the campground. The calm, tidal waters are well suited for families, with picnic tables, washrooms, and nearby trailhead parking that accommodates RVs.
This easy multi-use trail follows the shoreline of the Brudenell River with views of salt marsh, forest, and the golf course across the water. The flat, wide path is suitable for walking, jogging, and casual cycling directly from the campground.
The sheltered estuary of the Brudenell River is one of the most popular paddling spots in eastern PEI. Launch points near the park give access to calm tidal water, with seals and shorebirds often spotted along the banks.
Two championship golf courses, Brudenell River and Dundarave, are located on the grounds of the adjacent resort. Both are open to the public and sit within walking or short driving distance of the campground.
Guided trail rides operate from stables on the park peninsula during the summer season. Rides travel through forest and shoreline terrain and are suitable for beginners as well as experienced riders.
The Confederation Trail, a tip-to-tip rail trail across PEI, is easily accessed from nearby Montague about 10 km from the park. The flat, packed-surface trail is ideal for cycling and walking, with trailhead parking large enough for tow vehicles.
The park sits along the Points East Coastal Drive, a signed scenic route that loops through lighthouses, fishing harbours, and red-sand beaches in eastern PEI. Highlights within an hour's drive include Panmure Island, Basin Head, and East Point Lighthouse.
First time renting a trailer and had a great first experience. The owners provided so much more than what is listed in their listing. From small kitchen appliances, cleaning supplies, dish ware, down to dvds for the dvd player. I could not have rented from better hosts. You will not be disappointed.

Brudenell River Provincial Park, PE, Canada
The park is about a 10 minute drive from Montague and roughly an hour (around 75 km) east of Charlottetown via Trans-Canada Highway 1 and Route 3. From the Confederation Bridge at Borden-Carleton, expect about a 1 hour 45 minute drive across the island on well-maintained, RV-friendly highways with no mountain passes or tunnels. Travellers arriving by the Wood Islands ferry from Nova Scotia reach the park in about 45 minutes via Route 4. Charlottetown Airport (YYG) is the nearest airport for fly-and-rent RV trips, and PEI's rural secondary roads can be narrow with soft shoulders, so larger rigs should stick to numbered highways where possible.
