Best time to visit Buckskin Mountain State Park

The most comfortable months are October through April, when daytime highs are mild and nights are cool, making this a classic Arizona snowbird destination. Winter weekends and holidays fill quickly, so reservations are strongly recommended for RV sites. Spring and fall shoulder seasons offer the best balance of warm river temperatures and lighter crowds. Summer is very hot, with triple-digit highs common, but remains popular with boaters seeking the cool Colorado River.

Jim was great, he delivered our trailer to Echo Lodge Campground on time, everything was set up, AC running, fridge was cold upon our arrival. He called me prior to us arriving and after we arrived to make sure everything was in proper working order. Trailer was roomy and clean, everything worked as it should. It was stocked with basic necessities such as plastic cups, silverware, k-cup coffee, soap, sponges and it had some bowls and plates. There was a couple pots and pans, kitchen utensils, etc. My only recommendation would be to have some extra toilet paper and cleaning supplies to keep it clean for a 7 day trip. The queen bed was very comfortable, and AC was cold. The two bunk beds were good, maybe bring a mattress topper or foam pad. The couch makes into a small bed life a child or small adult. The outdoor fridge was great, he included some extra chairs and and outdoor rug. Would definitely recommend for any family for a great time!

How to get to Buckskin Mountain State Park

The park sits on Arizona State Route 95 along the Colorado River, about 11 miles north of Parker, Arizona, and roughly 35 miles south of Lake Havasu City. Phoenix is about a 3 hour drive southeast via I-10 and SR-95, and Las Vegas is roughly 3.5 hours north. Oversized vehicles and vehicles towing trailers are not permitted to cross Parker Dam, so RVers should stay on the Arizona side via SR-95 rather than routing through California. The closest major airports for fly-and-rent trips are Harry Reid International in Las Vegas and Phoenix Sky Harbor.
