Late June through early September is the best window for RV travel, when the campground and beach are open, daytime highs are comfortable, and the pond is warm enough for swimming. September and early October bring cooler nights, fewer bugs, and strong fall foliage across the northern Berkshires, which is a favorite shoulder season for leaf peepers. Spring can be wet and buggy, and facilities are typically not open until late spring. Winter closes the campground, leaving only limited day-use access.

Mauserts Pond features a sandy, guarded swim beach that is the centerpiece of the park. The beach area has a bathhouse, picnic tables, and grills, and is an easy walk from the campground. Parking in the day-use lot accommodates standard vehicles; larger RVs are better left at the campsite.
The Mauserts Pond Loop is a gentle trail that circles the pond through mixed forest and wetland. It offers quiet views of the water and is a good option for families and casual hikers. Expect roots, boardwalk sections, and occasional wet spots.
Mauserts Pond is a quiet, non-motorized pond well suited to canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards. There is a small carry-in launch near the day-use area. Early morning paddles often turn up herons, beavers, and nesting waterfowl.
Anglers can fish from shore or by small boat for largemouth bass, yellow perch, and panfish. A valid Massachusetts freshwater fishing license is required for anglers 15 and older. The shoreline near the dam is a popular starting point.
The day-use area offers shaded picnic sites with tables and grills overlooking the pond. Restrooms and a bathhouse are nearby during the summer season. It is a convenient lunch stop for travelers driving the Mohawk Trail or Route 8 corridor.
Massachusetts's highest peak is a short drive south of Clarksburg and makes an excellent day trip. Smaller RVs can drive the auto road to the summit for panoramic views across the Berkshires, Greens, and Catskills. Trailers and very large motorhomes are discouraged on the narrow summit road.
The Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art in North Adams is one of the country's largest contemporary art campuses and is about 15 minutes from the park. Visitors can combine the museum with strolls and dining in downtown North Adams. RV parking is easier in municipal lots on the edges of downtown.
Natural Bridge State Park, just south in North Adams, protects the only natural white marble arch in North America along with a historic marble dam. The site has short, accessible paths suitable for most visitors. It pairs well with a morning or afternoon at Clarksburg.

I recently had the pleasure of staying in Lien's camper van for a music festival in Vermont, and I can't emphasize enough how perfectly it met my needs. My four essential requirements for the stay— a clean environment, a comfortable bed, a bathroom, and quality coffee—were not only satisfied but exceeded in every aspect, transforming my experience into one of sheer comfort and enjoyment. In fact, I enjoyed my stay so much that I’ve already booked for next year's festivities! Lien proved to be an exceptional host, embodying warmth and hospitality throughout my stay. She communicated effectively and was always available to address any questions I had, ensuring I felt welcome and well-informed. Her clear instructions prior to my arrival made the check-in process seamless, and she generously took the time to provide a thorough tutorial on the van's systems, which truly enhanced my experience. Furthermore, Lien went above and beyond by supplying plenty of pillows, blankets, and fresh spring water, which added thoughtful touches to my stay. Her attention to detail made all the difference, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the festival atmosphere without any worries. I wholeheartedly recommend her camper van as the perfect 'home away from home' for solo travelers or couples alike. If you're looking for a convenient, comfortable, and fun place to stay, look no further! You won't be disappointed!

Clarksburg State Park, MA, United States
The park sits just off Route 8 in Clarksburg, about 5 miles north of North Adams and roughly 20 miles from Bennington, Vermont. Drivers from the Boston area face a trip of about 3 hours via Route 2 (the Mohawk Trail), while Albany, NY is roughly 1 hour to the west and Hartford, CT about 2 hours south. RVers should note that Route 2 east of North Adams climbs the steep Hairpin Turn on Western Summit, with tight switchbacks and grades that are challenging for long rigs and towables; approaching from the west via Route 7 or Route 8 is gentler. The nearest regional airport for fly-and-rent trips is Albany International (ALB).
