The North Shore Trails are a 25-plus-mile singletrack network popular with hikers, trail runners, and mountain bikers. The system winds through wooded hills and along the Clinton Lake shoreline, with multiple trailheads accessible from the park.
Clinton Lake offers roughly 7,000 acres of open water for powerboating, sailing, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding. A marina near the park provides fuel and boat launches, and several ramps inside the park give direct water access.
The park's designated sandy swim beach is a summer favorite, with shallow entry and picnic areas nearby. Day-use parking is close by and accommodates larger vehicles.
Clinton Lake is stocked and managed for walleye, crappie, white bass, largemouth bass, and channel catfish. Shoreline access points and courtesy docks are spread throughout the park.
Overlook Park near the Corps of Engineers dam provides panoramic views of Clinton Lake and the surrounding hills. The short walking paths and picnic shelters are easy to reach and suitable for a quick stop.
The park's mix of woodland, prairie, and lakeshore attracts bald eagles in winter, migrating waterfowl, deer, and wild turkey. Quieter mornings in the campground loops and along shoreline trails are prime for spotting wildlife.
Multiple picnic shelters and open lawns are scattered throughout the park, many with lake views. Several day-use areas include grills, restrooms, and parking that fits tow vehicles and smaller motorhomes.

Clinton State Park, KS, United States
The park sits about 10 miles west of downtown Lawrence via Clinton Parkway and Highway 40, roughly a 45-minute drive from Topeka and about an hour from the Kansas City metro. Kansas City International Airport (MCI) is the closest major fly-and-rent option, approximately 75 miles to the northeast. Access roads are paved and generally RV-friendly with no mountain passes or tunnels, though the final approach includes some gentle hills and a few tight curves near the campground loops. Drivers of larger rigs should watch for low-clearance entrance signs at individual loops and avoid shortcutting through narrow park service roads.
