My kids give it a 5 star, and so do I and my wife! Communication was easy, pick up and drop off were flexible, orientation and explanation was thorough, and it was the perfect experience for our family of 4. It was our 1st time renting an RV and Randall made it as easy as it could be:) We had a few questions while on the road, and messaging through the app his responses were quick and helpful! No surprise charges, everything was up front, and any additional charges were expected on the back end (mileage, tank dump, propane refill, etc). We saved up for this trip, and are already planning on saving up for another! You couldn’t ask for a better bargain vs paying for hotels and eating out for every meal. 5/5 and 10/10 would recommend!!!

The platform verifies your ID during booking, so you don’t have to worry about paperwork at pickup. International visitors: grab an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your local auto association before your trip. Can I bring my dog or cat along in my Kansas RV rental?

Many hosts will drive the RV to your campground or even your driveway, set everything up, and give you a walkthrough before they go. You can filter listings for delivery options near cities like Wichita, Topeka, or rural lakes. This makes exploring spots like Wilson State Park or the Sunflower State’s many festivals even easier - just step inside and your vacation begins!

How many miles can I travel with my Kansas RV rental, and are there unlimited mileage options?

For your Kansas RV road trip, you’ll find most rentals include a set number of free miles per night - typically 100 to 150. Planning a long journey? Some listings offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, especially on motorhome rental in Kansas. You’ll see exact mileage policies in each listing, so you know up front what’s included. Destinations like Kansas City (180 miles from Hays) or Oklahoma City (250 miles from Wichita) are within range of most trips. Just double-check mileage before you book to match your travel plans.

Where can I park an RV or go RV camping in Kansas?

Kansas has hundreds of RV-friendly places to stay! Three favorites: Wilson State Park (lake views and full hookups), Deer Creek Valley RV Park (swimming pool, pet friendly, Topeka), and Cheney State Park (fishing, wildlife, over 200 RV sites). Many state parks take online reservations through the Kansas State Parks system. Some Walmarts in Kansas allow overnight parking, but always check with the manager first. Pro tip: Book top campgrounds early for summer weekends - they fill up around lakes and near Wichita and Topeka.

When is the best time to visit Kansas for an RV trip?

You’ll love spring and fall in Kansas for your RV trip! April-June and September-early November bring mild weather (lows around 45°F, highs in the 70s-80s) and wildflower blooms or golden leaves. July and August can get hot - expect highs of 90°F+ - but lakes like Milford Lake are perfect for cooling off. Most campgrounds are open year-round. Want fewer crowds? Visit in late September for fantastic scenery and local events like the Eisenhower Marathon in Abilene.

Popular nearby road trip destinations include Denver, Colorado (5.5 hours from Hays), Branson, Missouri (5 hours from Wichita), and the Tallgrass Prairie (just 1.5 hours from Kansas City). Always check your listing for any travel area restrictions, and let your host know your plans before booking. With many RVs, you can explore the Midwest and Great Plains with total freedom.

How do I budget for fuel on a Kansas RV trip?

Fuel costs are easy to estimate on your Kansas RV rental - most motorhomes get 8-12 MPG, while towables will depend on your tow vehicle. Gas prices in Kansas are often below the national average. For a trip from Hays to Wichita (about 220 miles), budget around $75-$100 in fuel for a mid-sized RV. Plan your refueling stops along I-70 or I-35, and use apps like GasBuddy for local prices. Pro tip: Many hosts share fuel-efficient driving tips at your pickup walkthrough.

How far in advance should I book RV campgrounds in Kansas, and where do I make reservations?

For the best RV camping in Kansas, reserve your spot early - especially May through September. Book state park campgrounds (like Clinton or Wilson) at least 2 to 3 months ahead using the Kansas State Parks reservation system (CampIt KS at campitks.com or ksoutdoors.com). Many private RV parks near Wichita or Topeka use their own websites or phone reservations. Bookings for festivals, especially the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson, should be made as soon as dates are released; these fill fast!

What’s driving like in Kansas with an RV - any local tips for highways or weather?

Driving an RV in Kansas is generally smooth - the state is famous for wide highways and open roads. Watch for high winds, especially in spring and early fall, which can make travel more challenging. The Kansas Turnpike (I-35) and I-70 are well maintained but check for storm warnings in tornado season. Avoid peak hours (4-6 p.m.) in larger cities like Wichita. Insider tip: Fuel up at major exits along the turnpike for easy access and the best prices.

What amenities can I expect at Kansas RV campgrounds for dumping, water, and hookups?

Most Kansas RV campgrounds are well equipped - you’ll find dump stations, potable water fill-ups, and electric hookups at parks like Milford Lake and Deer Creek Valley RV Park. Most state parks offer both 30 and 50 amp service. Many RV-friendly stops along I-70 also feature quick-access dump stations. Ask your host about how to use campground hookups at your orientation, and check park websites for amenity specifics before your trip.

What features are included with my RV rental in Kansas?

You’ll find Kansas RV rentals with all the comforts of home - real beds, kitchens (with fridge, stove, microwave), bathrooms, TV, A/C, heat, and often WiFi and a generator. Most have seatbelts for every passenger. Exact features are listed in each vehicle’s description, so you know if you have bunk beds for the kids or solar for off-grid camping. If there’s anything you need for your family RV trip in Kansas, ask your host! Many even supply linens and camp chairs.

Are there popular RV add-ons or extras for Kansas trips?

Many Kansas RV rentals offer handy add-ons: firewood bundles, outdoor games, grills, bike racks, or even kayaks for state park lake adventures. You can request extras like generator rental, unlimited mileage, or delivery at checkout. Pickup and drop-off hours are flexible - just coordinate your ideal time with your host when booking. These options make it easy to customize your Kansas adventure for any type of traveler.

How does payment work, and what should I know about the security deposit when renting an RV in Kansas?

Booking your Kansas RV rental is simple and secure: pay online when you reserve. If the listing requires a security deposit, RVezy places a temporary hold on your payment method three days before your trip (no money is charged; the hold is released 7 days after the trip ends unless there is a claim). Do a final walkthrough, empty tanks, and return the RV on time to avoid deductions. View payment details anytime in your booking.
