The park's designated swim area sits on Little Pine Lake with a sandy entry, shaded picnic tables, and restrooms nearby. Swimming is at-your-own-risk with no lifeguards on duty. The day-use lot accommodates standard tow vehicles and can handle smaller RVs.

  • Paddling and kayaking Easy

Little Pine Lake is a no-wake lake ideal for kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards. Seasonal rentals are available at the park when staffing allows, and private craft may be launched from the park ramp. Calm water and forested shoreline make this a good family paddle.

  • CCC-era architecture tour Easy
    RV parking available

Daingerfield State Park was built by Company 2891 of the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, and the original stone bathhouse, pavilion, and cabins remain in use. • Wildlife viewing and birdwatching Easy
    RV parking available

The forested lakeshore supports woodpeckers, herons, wood ducks, songbirds, and white-tailed deer. Early morning and dusk walks on the Rustling Leaves Trail offer the best chances. Binoculars and insect repellent are recommended in warm months.

  • Geocaching Easy
    RV parking available

Daingerfield State Park participates in the Texas State Parks geocaching program, with hidden caches placed throughout the trails and day-use areas. Families can pick up clues and GPS guidance at the park headquarters. The activity pairs well with short hikes accessible from the campground.

How to get to Daingerfield State Park

The park sits just off State Highway 49 about 2 miles east of the town of Daingerfield in Morris County. From Dallas it is roughly a 3 hour drive east via I-30 and US-259, and from Shreveport, Louisiana it is about 1.5 hours west via I-20 and US-59. RV drivers should note the final park road is narrow and winding with a steep descent toward the lake and campgrounds, so larger rigs should take the entrance grades slowly and watch for low tree canopy. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Shreveport Regional Airport (SHV), with Dallas Fort Worth International (DFW) as the next closest hub.
