Great experience renting from Josh! He was friendly, responsive, and made the whole process very easy. The RV had everything we needed and was exactly as described. Josh also took the time to explain everything during the walkthrough, which made us feel very comfortable before the trip. Highly recommend renting from him!

This is an incredible RV with some amenities I didn’t even think were possible. We were comfortably able to sleep 5 people, including 3 older children. It expands quite nicely and drives very comfortably. The included washer/dryer, induction stove top, convection oven, microwave, and shower with hot water were great features! Also, plenty of TVs for entertainment, and Starlink for Internet access anywhere you decide to wander! Josh was also an amazing host and very communicative along the way anytime we had questions.

Camper completely flooded. 2 different generators went out by then had the barrow 2 of them from different people couldn’t even shower due to shower head being broken and water heater not working then tried to tell me they would give me a $200 future credit when I’ll never rent from them again also tried to tell me they waived technician fee when gave us a broken camper. I have picture on top of pictures of the rv flooding as well as text messages. Definitely not recommended renting from Carlos.

This was the perfect RV to rent to see if this was the life for us. Easy to drive and easy set up. April provided great videos we were able to review to make us comfortable before heading out. She was also very responsive while we were on the road with a couple of our questions.

Super responsive on a short lead time booking! RV matched description perfectly and was fully ready for us to use - all I brought was food. Bedding, towels, toiletries, kitchen utensils and dishes - all in. We really enjoyed listening to music on the outdoor speakers! Propane heater worked awesome on a very cold (20F) Texas weekend. Charles was very gracious when I was running late for checkin, and was spot on time for checkout. Helped me check in and out through the app and couldn't have been friendlier and nicer! If there were 6 stars I'd give it!

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Texas

What do I need to rent an RV in Texas?

Renting an RV in Texas is easier than you might think. All you need is to be 25 or older with a valid driver’s license: no commercial or special RV license required for most rentals. International visitors are welcome: just secure an International Driving Permit at home before you go, and you’re ready to hit the open road. RVezy’s ID verification process is quick and secure, so your booking can be completed in minutes. Your Texas RV trip is just a few clicks away: no red tape to slow you down!

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Texas, and how can I save money?

Great news: RV rental in Texas is one of the most flexible and affordable ways to explore the Lone Star State. On average, travel trailers start around $90–$140 per night, while motorhome rentals in Texas (like Class C or Class A models) usually run $160–$275 per night. If you’re after a cheap RV rental in Texas, look in shoulder seasons (March–May and September–November) when rates drop and campgrounds are quieter. Pro tip: Many hosts offer discounts for weekly bookings: just use the 'price range' filter to find your best option.

What protection and roadside help come with my Texas RV rental?

Every RVezy booking in Texas includes a protection package, which means you’re covered for common damages and have built-in financial peace of mind throughout your rental. Plus, you have 24/7 roadside assistance anywhere in Texas: whether you’re exploring Big Bend or coast-hopping on Galveston Island. You choose your level of coverage when booking, making it easy to match your plans. You can relax and enjoy your Texas RV trip, knowing help is just a call away.

How do cancellations work if my Texas travel plans change?

Booking your RV rental in Texas is straightforward. RVezy's cancellation policy applies: you get a full refund if you cancel within 24 hours of the host accepting your booking. After that, refunds depend on how far in advance you cancel. If your host cancels, you receive a full refund with no penalties. All details are on the RVezy site so you know where you stand.

Can I bring my pet on my Texas RV rental?

Absolutely! Pet-friendly RV rental in Texas makes it easy to adventure with your furry family member. Just filter your search for 'Pet-Friendly' listings: many Texas hosts welcome pets and some even set up special amenities like outdoor pet fences or removable cushions. Explore pet-friendly parks like McKinney Falls State Park near Austin, or stroll trails in Pedernales Falls. Message your host about your pet and any local recommendations: they love sharing their favorite dog parks and pet-friendly patios!

Can I rent an RV in Texas and have it delivered to my campsite?

Yes, RV delivery in Texas is super popular and hassle-free. Many hosts offer delivery and setup right to your favorite campground, event, or even your driveway: perfect for first-time RV renters or anyone skipping the drive. Simply use the 'Delivery' filter to see listings that will bring your RV to places like Guadalupe River State Park, Mustang Island, or even Austin's music festivals. When you arrive, your host will walk you through the essentials so you're road-ready from the start.

How far can I travel with my Texas RV rental, and is unlimited mileage available?

You can take your Texas RV rental just about anywhere in the state: explore the Hill Country, coast to Galveston, or head west to Big Bend. Each host sets their own mileage allowance, but many offer generous daily limits, and a few provide unlimited mileage for longer road trips. Check each listing and use the 'mileage policy' filter for your perfect route. Want to plan a classic Texas RV road trip? Austin to San Antonio is just 80 miles; Houston to Port Aransas is about 200 miles.

Where are the best places to park an RV overnight in Texas?

RV camping in Texas is a treat: whether you want lakeside, mountain, or city access. Top campgrounds include McKinney Falls State Park (Austin: waterfalls and hiking), Padre Island National Seashore (beachfront camping), and Garner State Park (Hill Country rivers). Many Texas rest areas allow short overnight stops, and Buc-ee's franchises are famously RV-friendly. Use https://texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com to reserve spots, especially during spring bluebonnet season, or ask your host for their local favorites.

What’s the best time of year for an RV trip in Texas?

The best time for an RV trip in Texas is fall (October–November) and spring (March–May): think wildflowers, festivals, and warm days with highs around 70–85°F. Texas summers can get hot (regularly 95°F+), so look for campsites with hookups to power your air conditioner. Winter RVing in Texas is totally doable: many snowbirds love mild December–February lows (40–55°F) along the Gulf Coast. Book early for spring or fall weekends, as these fill up fast!

What support do first-time renters get on RVezy in Texas?

First time renting an RV in Texas? You’ll get a full walkthrough from your host: right at pickup or delivery. They’ll show you how everything works: slides, hookups, awning, the works! Plus, you can message your host any time for local advice. RVezy also has step-by-step guides and videos for first-timers. Nervous about driving? Many hosts offer delivery to major cities like Houston and Dallas, so you don’t have to navigate busy roads if you don’t want to.

What happens if something goes wrong on the road in Texas?

Traveling in Texas means peace of mind comes standard. Every RV rental includes 24/7 roadside assistance. Whether it’s a flat tire near Amarillo or a battery issue in the Hill Country, help is just a call away, anywhere in Texas. Roadside support covers everything from jumpstarts to lockouts, so minor hiccups won’t derail your adventure. All you need to do is call the helpline provided in your booking details. You’ll be rolling again in no time!

Can I take my Texas RV rental across state lines?

Yes! Most RV rentals in Texas can travel to surrounding states like Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas, and Louisiana: just check with your host for any specific restrictions. However, travel to Mexico is not allowed with any RVezy rental. Popular routes include Dallas to Hot Springs National Park (340 miles) or San Antonio to Carlsbad Caverns (400 miles). Crossing into other U.S. states is straightforward and makes for epic road trips!

How do I budget for fuel on a Texas RV trip?

Fueling up for your Texas RV rental is simple: most motorhomes get 8–12 miles per gallon, while towable trailers depend on your vehicle. Gas prices in Texas are typically lower than the U.S. average: think $3–$3.30/gallon (as of 2024). For a Dallas–Padre Island round trip (1,100 miles), budget around $350–$460 for fuel in a Class C RV. Pro tip: Fill up at Buc-ee’s or Pilot truck stops for big savings and easy access.

How far in advance should I book a campground in Texas?

For the best campgrounds near Austin or Houston, it’s smart to reserve your spot 2–4 months in advance, especially during Texas spring (March–April) and fall (October) when parks fill up fast. Popular places like Inks Lake and Palo Duro Canyon use the ReserveAmerica system, which opens bookings 5 months out. Spontaneous trip? Many state parks have first-come, first-served sites midweek. Book extra early for festivals or holidays!

What’s it like driving an RV in Texas? Should I worry about roads or traffic?

Driving an RV in Texas is a breeze: most main highways are wide and well-maintained. But be ready for Houston and Dallas rush hours (7–9 am and 4–6 pm) and occasional construction. Watch for low crossings in small Hill Country towns (many are clearly marked) and high winds on West Texas plains. Unsure about city driving? Choose RV delivery or start your adventure in the countryside: escape routes are everywhere!

What amenities and hookups can I expect at Texas campgrounds?

Texas campgrounds range from full-service resorts to quiet, nature-first parks. Most state parks (like Garner or Pedernales Falls) have electric (30A/50A) and water hookups, dump stations, and shower facilities, while RV resorts may offer pools, wifi, and laundry. Want full hookups? Check listings for KOA, Jellystone, or private parks near San Antonio or Houston. For a real Hill Country vibe, try an RV park near Fredericksburg: many have fire rings and picnic tables for sunset cookouts.

What features are included with a typical Texas RV rental?

Most RV rentals in Texas come fully equipped for the open road: comfy beds, kitchen with stove and fridge, bathroom with shower, air conditioner, and plenty of seating with seatbelts. Many also include TVs, DVD players, WiFi hotspots, and generators for off-grid camping. Need extras like outdoor chairs, bike racks, or grill kits? Many hosts include these: or offer them as affordable add-ons. Check each listing for details, and message your host if you have special requests.

Are there popular add-ons or extra fees I should expect when renting an RV in Texas?

Absolutely: you can personalize your RV rental in Texas with extras like outdoor games, bedding kits, generators, propane refills, or delivery and setup services. Hosts set clear prices for these add-ons, and you’ll see all charges up front before booking. Early pickup, late dropoff, and extra mileage are common options. Unsure what you need? Ask your host: they love helping you plan the perfect Texas camping adventure.

How does payment and the security deposit work for RV rentals in Texas?

Booking your RV rental in Texas is secure. Payment and the refundable security deposit are processed through RVezy. The security deposit is a temporary hold on your card, placed three days before your trip and released within 7 days after you return the RV in good condition. You can pay in full at checkout or, for trips booked more than 37 days ahead, pay a deposit then the balance later. No cash needed.
