Spring, from March through May, is the best time to visit, with mild temperatures, wildflowers, and good conditions for hiking and lake outings before the summer heat. Fall, from late September through November, offers comfortable days, cooler nights, fewer crowds, and strong fishing. Summer is peak season for swimming and boating but expect high humidity and temperatures often above 95°F, so book RV sites well in advance. Winter is quiet and generally mild, though cold fronts can bring freezing nights and occasional ice storms.

Lake Texoma is one of the largest reservoirs in the U.S. and is known for striped bass, catfish, and crappie. The park has a lighted boat ramp, courtesy dock, fish-cleaning station, and a full-service marina with boat rentals and slips.
A designated swim beach with picnic areas offers easy shoreline access to Lake Texoma. Day-use parking accommodates tow vehicles after unhitching at the campground.
The park has roughly four miles of hiking and multi-use trails winding through oak woodland and along sandstone bluffs above the lake. Shorter interpretive loops near the headquarters suit casual walkers and families.
Eisenhower is a popular North Texas mountain biking destination with singletrack trails shared with hikers. Expect rolling terrain, exposed rock sections, and lake views.
Exposed limestone bluffs along the shoreline contain marine fossils, viewable from trails and the waterline. Collecting is not permitted; photography is encouraged.
The park lies along the Central Flyway, with bald eagles, herons, and migrating waterfowl seen along the lakeshore. Early mornings at the day-use areas are best.
Shaded picnic sites and a reservable group pavilion sit near the lake and swim beach. Pull-through parking makes stops easy for larger rigs visiting for the day.

Eisenhower State Park, TX, United States
The park sits off FM 1310 near Denison, Texas, roughly 75 miles north of Dallas, about a 90-minute drive via US-75. Sherman is about 15 miles south, and Durant, Oklahoma, is about 30 miles north across Lake Texoma. Park roads are paved and generally RV-friendly, but interior campground loops are narrow and wooded, so large Class A rigs and long fifth wheels should confirm site length when reserving. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Dallas/Fort Worth International (DFW), about 80 miles south of the park.
