Best time to visit Davis Mountains State Park

Spring (March to May) and fall (September to November) are the best months to visit, with mild daytime highs, cool evenings, and lower wildfire risk. Summer brings warm days but cooler mountain nights than the desert floor, and monsoon showers in July and August green up the landscape. Winter is quieter and generally mild during the day, though overnight freezes are common and occasional snow can dust higher elevations. Stargazing is rewarding year round thanks to the area's protected dark skies.

These connecting trails climb from the campground area up to the Skyline Drive ridge, covering roughly 4.5 miles round trip with significant elevation gain.
