Late June through August is the prime window for RV travel, with warm days, long daylight hours, and fully open campgrounds, beaches, and boat launches. Early July to mid-August is peak season, so reservations are strongly recommended on weekends. Shoulder months of May, June, and September bring cooler nights, fewer bugs, and quieter campgrounds, though some services may be reduced. Winter brings deep snow and very cold temperatures, with most serviced campgrounds closed and access limited to day-use and snowmobiling.

Baldy Mountain is the highest point in Manitoba at around 831 metres and features an observation tower reached by a short walk from the parking area. The site has a large paved lot suitable for RVs and offers panoramic views across the surrounding forest and farmland.
Childs Lake is one of the park's main recreation hubs, with a serviced campground, sandy beach, boat launch, and excellent fishing for lake trout and northern pike. The campground has pull-through and back-in RV sites with electrical service.
Blue Lakes is a popular family destination with clear water, a day-use beach, and a serviced campground that can accommodate RVs. Short walking trails connect the campground to the lakeshore.
Wellman Lake offers a quieter camping and day-use area with a boat launch and trout fishing. The access road is paved and suitable for RVs, and the lake is a good base for exploring the park's northern trails.
Copernicus Hill is a short uphill hike to a viewpoint on the Manitoba Escarpment that offers wide views over the Swan River Valley. The trailhead has a gravel pull-off with space for smaller RVs and tow vehicles.
Singush Lake is a smaller, rustic campground and day-use lake known for paddling and quiet shoreline fishing. It suits RVers looking for a less developed, back-to-nature stop within the park.
The Shell River Valley viewpoint provides an accessible roadside stop overlooking a broad, forested river valley carved into the escarpment. There is a paved pull-off that accommodates RVs for short stays.

Duck Mountain Provincial Park, MB, Canada
The park sits in the Parkland region of western Manitoba, about a 4 to 4.5 hour drive (roughly 380 km) northwest of Winnipeg via the Trans-Canada Highway and PTH 10. From Dauphin it is about 45 minutes north and west, and from Roblin roughly 30 minutes east on PTH 366 and PR 367. Roads into the park are paved or well-maintained gravel with some rolling grades on the escarpment, so RV drivers should watch for steep sections, loose gravel, and wildlife on the road, especially at dawn and dusk. The closest airports for fly-and-rent trips are Winnipeg Richardson International Airport (YWG) and Saskatoon (YXE), each a long day's drive away.
