Best time to visit East Fork State Park

Late spring through early fall is the prime window for RV travel, with May, June, September, and early October offering warm days, cooler nights, and lower humidity than midsummer. July and August bring the busiest lake activity and warmest swimming, but also peak crowds and humid thunderstorms. Shoulder months in April and October are ideal for hiking and fall color, though some services and beach access scale back. Winter camping is possible for self-contained RVs, but expect limited facilities and cold, damp weather.

How to get to East Fork State Park

The park is off State Route 125 near Bethel, Ohio, roughly a 45-minute drive from downtown Cincinnati and about 2 hours from Columbus via I-71 and SR 125. RVers typically approach from I-275 around Cincinnati, then head east on SR 125, a mostly two-lane route with some rolling grades and small-town traffic lights rather than any major mountain passes or tunnels. Drivers towing larger rigs should plan for tight turns on the park access roads and watch for low-clearance gas station canopies along SR 125. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International (CVG), about an hour west of the park.
