Echo State Park, UT, United States

How to get to Echo State Park

The park is easily reached via Interstate 80, exiting near Coalville (Exit 162) about 45 miles (roughly 45 to 55 minutes) east of Salt Lake City and about 20 miles (around 25 minutes) north of Park City. RV drivers should note that I-80 climbs steadily from Salt Lake City over Parleys Summit at about 7,000 feet, which can mean slow going for larger rigs and winter chain or traction-tire restrictions in snow. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC), with a typical drive of under an hour in good conditions. There are no tight tunnels or low clearances on the main approach, but side roads around the reservoir can be narrow, so stick to the signed park entrances.

Best time to visit Echo State Park

Late May through early September is the prime window, when reservoir water levels are high, daytime temperatures are warm enough for swimming and boating, and nights are comfortably cool at roughly 5,500 feet of elevation. July and August bring the busiest weekends, so RV renters should book sites well in advance. Shoulder months like May, September, and early October offer quieter camping, good fishing, and crisp mornings, though weather can turn quickly. Winter visits are limited by snow and cold, with facilities scaled back and the reservoir often partially frozen.

Great communication and extremely accommodating! Highly recommend !

We enjoyed our stay in this camper! We did a tour SLC - Page - Monument Valley - Arches in three days and this RV was up for the job. It is a bit older model, quite some engine/wind noise while on the road, so our third party member sometimes felt a bit left out sitting in the back. But sleeping comfort was great and it is just the right size to be able to access a diverse range of campgrounds. Also good contact with the owner! Responds to questions very fast and provides an elaborate briefing. Thank you for letting us stay in your RV!

Kiesha and Dan were some of the best hosts I’ve ever met when traveling. This was our first ever rv camping experience but they made it super easy and comfortable. They set the bar high for us, especially the communication. They would respond immediately and accurately whenever we needed anything and we really appreciated that. The van was everything in the description if not more. It’s very spacious yet cozy, perfect for a family trip. It is also easy to maneuver, the sensors and cameras really added to it as well. Dan的中文非常流利!我非常欣赏!尤其我父母这次来玩英文也不是特别好,Dan的中文instructions让这次旅途更加轻松。房车的操作也非常简单,我们特别喜欢!

Our family of four had a fantastic week in Kiesha’s Solis exploring Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. The RV made camping a dream! It was well-stocked with everything we needed, easy to operate, and fit us all comfortably. Kiesha and Dan were super helpful and accommodating, available to answer questions and offer suggestions for the journey. As first time RV-ers, we’ve been converted!
