Late April through June and September through October offer the most comfortable conditions for RV visits, with mild daytime temperatures and lower humidity. Midsummer is warm but manageable at this elevation, and the indoor museum provides a welcome break from heat on the surrounding Cedar Mesa trails. Winter visits are possible since the museum is open year-round, though occasional snow and icy mornings can affect travel on US-191. Shoulder seasons also bring smaller crowds at nearby Natural Bridges and Bears Ears.

A short interpretive walk leads through the partially excavated Ancestral Puebloan great house complex adjacent to the museum. Visitors can descend a ladder into a reconstructed kiva and view masonry room blocks built between roughly A.D. 825 and 1225.
The museum houses southeastern Utah's largest collection of Ancestral Puebloan pottery, along with baskets, textiles, and tools. Visible storage and rotating exhibits on Indigenous art and culture give visitors a close look at artifacts from the Cedar Mesa region.
An outdoor sculpture garden features the Sun Marker, a bronze and stone piece that aligns with solstice and equinox sunrises. The surrounding lawns offer picnic space and views toward the Abajo Mountains.
Natural Bridges sits roughly 40 miles west of Blanding and features a scenic drive with pullouts overlooking three large natural bridges. The loop road is paved and suitable for most RVs, though some viewpoint trails are steep. nps.gov/nabr/index.htm

A half-mile trail across slickrock leads to an overlook of a cliff-dwelling alcove in Bears Ears National Monument. The trailhead is on US-95 about 10 miles west of Blanding and has a paved pull-through lot that accommodates RVs.
Devils Canyon Campground sits about 8 miles north of Blanding at roughly 7,100 feet, with ponderosa pines, pinyons, and junipers shading the loops. Edge of the Cedars State Park Museum, UT, United States
The park sits just off US-191 in Blanding, about 75 miles south of Moab (roughly 1.5 hours) and 21 miles south of Monticello. From Cortez, Colorado the drive is about 77 miles east, and Salt Lake City is approximately 320 miles north, a 5 to 6 hour drive. RV travelers should note that US-191 climbs and descends several grades through the Abajo foothills, and side routes toward Cedar Mesa and Valley of the Gods include steep, narrow, and unpaved sections unsuitable for larger rigs. The nearest commercial airports for fly-and-rent trips are Canyonlands Regional in Moab and Four Corners Regional in Farmington, New Mexico, with Grand Junction and Durango as larger alternatives.
