Best time to visit El Dorado State Park

Late April through early June and September through mid-October offer the most comfortable weather for RV travel, with mild days, cooler nights, and lighter crowds than peak summer. Summer weekends from Memorial Day through Labor Day are the busiest, with warm lake temperatures ideal for swimming and boating but high humidity and occasional thunderstorms. Fall brings prairie color, excellent fishing, and open campgrounds without summer heat. Winter stays are possible for self-contained rigs, though water service at many sites is shut off once freezing sets in.
