Late May through early September offers the warmest weather and full campground services, making it the prime window for RV travel. June and July bring long daylight hours for paddling and trail use, though weekends fill quickly around the Iowa Great Lakes. Early fall, from mid-September into October, is a strong shoulder season with cooler nights, fewer crowds, and autumn color along the lakeshore. Winter is cold and the campground is closed.

The park connects to the regional Iowa Great Lakes trail network, giving cyclists and walkers a paved route through the Okoboji area. Riders can head toward Arnolds Park, Milford, or Spirit Lake directly from the park.
The park provides quiet lake access on the east side of East Okoboji Lake for fishing, paddling, and shoreline walks. It is a calmer setting than the busier beaches on the west side of the lakes chain.
Short mowed and natural-surface trails wind through restored prairie and planted woodland inside the park. The flat terrain makes them suitable for most fitness levels.
Anglers can target walleye, yellow perch, bluegill, and largemouth bass in East Okoboji. A valid Iowa fishing license is required.
Gull Point State Park sits across the lakes on West Okoboji and offers a historic CCC-era lodge, swimming, and larger day-use areas. It pairs well with a quieter overnight at Elinor Bedell.
Arnolds Park is a historic lakeside amusement park a short drive from Elinor Bedell, known for its wooden roller coaster and boardwalk. It is a popular family add-on to an Okoboji RV trip.
The chain of interconnected lakes around Okoboji offers kayaking and canoeing through calm bays and channels. Launches are available at several nearby state parks and public access points.
Great experience with first time using RVezy, pretty much cover everything you almost needed for camping. Very comfortable and roomy space for family of 4 plus 2 dogs.

Elinor Bedell State Park, IA, United States
The park sits just east of Okoboji and Spirit Lake in northwest Iowa, reached via U.S. Highway 71 and county roads near Milford. It is roughly an hour and fifteen minutes from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, about 90 minutes from Sioux City, Iowa, and around four hours from Des Moines or Minneapolis. Roads into the park are paved and generally easy for RVs, but the final access lane is narrow, so large rigs should take turns slowly and watch for low branches. The nearest commercial airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Sioux Falls Regional Airport (FSD).
