The dry season from December through April offers the most comfortable conditions, with lower humidity, fewer mosquitoes, and wildlife concentrated around shrinking water holes, which makes it the most popular stretch for RV travel. November and early May serve as quieter shoulder windows with warm weather but rising insect activity. Summer through fall is hot, extremely humid, and prone to heavy afternoon thunderstorms and tropical systems, and mosquito pressure can be intense near Flamingo. RVers should note that hurricane season runs June through November and may prompt road or campground closures, and Long Pine Key Campground is closed during the wet season.

I recently had the pleasure of renting Mark and Cyndi's RV for a two-week vacation across Florida, and I cannot recommend them enough! The entire process, from the initial inquiry to returning the RV, was seamless, professional, and friendly. Here's what made my experience exceptional: Communication: Mark and Cyndi were prompt, clear, and informative in their communication. They made sure I knew everything I needed to before embarking on my adventure and were readily available to answer any questions I had during my trip. The RV: Their RV was in pristine condition and exceptionally clean. It was evident that they take great pride in maintaining their vehicle. The RV was spacious, comfortable, and equipped with all the essential amenities, making my vacation feel like a true "home away from home." Orientation and Support: Upon pickup, Mark and Cyndi provided a thorough orientation of the RV, ensuring I was comfortable with all its features and operations. They also provided a comprehensive guidebook and videos, which were extremely helpful during the trip. Additionally, they were always just a phone call away whenever I needed assistance or had questions.

Everglades National Park, FL, United States
The main Homestead entrance sits about 45 miles southwest of Miami, roughly a one hour drive on the Florida Turnpike and SR 9336, and Flamingo lies another 38 miles south inside the park. Shark Valley is reached via US 41 (Tamiami Trail) about 40 miles west of Miami, while the Gulf Coast Visitor Center in Everglades City is around 80 miles west of Miami and 35 miles south of Naples. Roads inside the park are flat with no tunnels or mountain passes, but the Main Park Road to Flamingo is long, narrow, and remote, so RVers should fuel up in Homestead and watch for wildlife on the pavement. The nearest major airport for fly and rent trips is Miami International, with Fort Lauderdale and Naples as alternatives.
